barrel cleaning

I'm sure some of you must still be serving at the moment.
Has there been any changes made to the rifle cleaning kit?
Not sure if this has been introduced to the SAF, it's called the BORE SNAKE.
IMO, our steel cleaning rod should be replaced for good. The bore snake weighs a fraction of the cleaning rod. It's a pullthrough with a combination of a bore brush and rag, and you can also fit a piece of flanalette patch at the end if desired.
While this may not be the best for a 100% clean barrel, it's definitely perfect for the field. Also, it does not damage the barrel as the metal parts are all made of brass.Hopefully a regular in the army picks up this post and introduce it to the SAF! It's not something new at all.

You really sotong lar,time spend cleaning is time wasted sleeping.over my 2 yrs in army life, i think i touch the cleaning kit very rarely.next time simi outing ,event etc,bring along small bottle of WD40. spray spray abit ,most carbon will drip out.1-2 min settle. Then ppl will start saying ,wtf,spoil the gun,makes it rust fast. My reply,hello, i serve my 2yrs nia,not my problem.wun rust during my period,thats for the next swaykia who tk over the rifle to worry abt.Work smart, not work hard. btw hor, 2yrs mai waste medical benefits. hard to cone by de :x. did my appenticitis ,tonsilitis operation, 4 wisdom tooth extraction over the 2yrs. free one. somemore got MA go out jia zhua.Government wan ur 2yrs,we tk back in all ways possible.all the operations hor,may or maynot happen in ur later life. Make full use.
