SAF no plans to adopt SAR-21A?

  I don't know if you heard about this but i just got word from cyberpionner in facebook that the Singapore army does not have any plans to adopt the ambitious looking SAR-21A, folks do you have any views on that?

  SAR-21 introduced 2005-6 and not yet fully fielded. What do you think?

  SAR-21 introduced in late 1990's for the infantry, SAR-21 is then introduced to BMT units in 2005-6

  Forum keeps chopping my post, 3rd time and tired to retype. Basic rehash, 21A is just the SAR with a P-rail, which the SAF don't really use, so not much improvement for us. No point spending the extra for the same basic item.

  SAR-21A can be used amidextourously, will be good for the lefties. Like me..

  Blinding danger, violation of Article 4 of Ban On Certain Conventional Weapons. Causes permanent blindness. Similar to landmine danger, it only cripples, not kills. And I think your link's the wrong one, it's to a movie. And a pretty propagandish one at that...

  Many useful and powerful weapons exists and do not get to be used just because of this Article 4

  Naplams, cluster munitions....they are examples

  The last thing many Iranian soldiers ever saw. Iraq used their T-72 laser range finders for this.
