JMSDF ships
JS Hamagiri (DD 155)
and JS Hamayuki (DD 126)
Japan's most basic ships with helicopters. Going to pirate patrol? When were these taken?

you can really make out the numbers on the hull!
Nice
what is the vantage point for these photos?
my guess is you saw them from your house and rushed down to bedok jetty to take them.
I've been taking photos of naval vessels from my vantage point whenever I spot them. And I dun live near the sea, I just work there. Cue thread title: Straits of Singapore. :)
I'm totally thrown off haha. Firstly considering the distance from land and the heading of the ships, if they were anywhere in the west, sailing in a straight line they would have originated inland. Unless they purposely altered course to purposely be seen from land, which is unlikely.
If they were taken in the east, I'm thrown off also. These pics are taken from lower level than the ships deck, I can't think of any workplace in the east at ground level yet seafront. Plenty in the west though.
Edit: unless you really take from inside CNB.
And the mystery goes on....6 years running :)
Regarding your other mystery ship http://sgdc.sgforums.com/forums/1164/topics/315829?page=2
maybe you have found a Vosper Mk 5, a very interesting, powerful and compact frigate from the 60s. indeed a rare find!
In service with Iran as the Alvand class and extensively modified over many years. Yours is stripped down, maybe for scrapping, and might be the last time anyone has seen this ship. http://www.irandefence.net/showthread.php?t=914
This photo will help your comparison the most. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_frigate_Alvand

he does not need to? I think tanah merah ferry terminal offers a good view as well of ships along the SG straits.
Dude, Imdex is coming. I'm sure you are aware.
