Laptop Stolen

  I heard of a personnel from "the company that manufacture our Submarines (we all know which company)", got the formula for anti-submarine coating, was supposed to delivered the news to MINDEF, the vehicle was broken into and the laptop which was in the parked vehicle, was stolen. Anyone heard of this news? It happened in Singapore.

  actually anti submarine coating isnt on laptop....most likely all that info is stored in a military usb locked in a mil toughbook laptop which can only be opened by codes and a physical hardlock.its also chained to the guys hand.

  if the laptop is a normal one......then must be damn cheap info.

  actually if i were the guys who made the submarines....i would have thrown the laptop into boat quay river while having rum on the rocks.....simply a waste of time and $$$$ selling paint n paint recipe to navy:)

  As said, TS mentioned it was an employee of a foreign company.  Any Singaporean would know that leaving a laptop visibly in a parked car is asking for trouble.  

  Always remove your cashcard and valuables from your car to avoid thefts like these.

  The coating is meant to repel specific submarines that have the black and white legs.  "Andes" something one....

  anti-submarine coating most probbaly refer to an sort of coating that hides the submarine from being detected by enemy ships. It may reduces the sighting by an enemy radar to something that doesn't raises any suspicious to the enemy radar/sonar operator.
