Another clip of the same movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKLLRx7xaVI&feature=related
chay ! i thought what wor ?
a bunch of suicidal Japs crashing perfectly good planes into perfectly good warships !
as if it'll work ???!!!
the Japs lost it land/sea/air to USA
Then muz do tis thing ..
somehow
it worked perfectly
somehow no =.=
its kamikaze, 神风敢æ»é˜Ÿ. even though what the japanese did was wrong you have to give these pilots credit for their willingness to die that way for their country.
where got work ?
the very most, they sink a couple of carriers and the US got so many of them !
those planes even loaded with bombs also can't sink battleships mah !
plus the US have the best AA around and so many ships !
the Japs should have all the planes spray poison gas instead, that might work a bit for a while !
or have the poison gas put in bombs so crash into the ships can kill the crew mah !
OR
attack at night only, fly low low and crash into the ships lor
OR
parachute a bunch of NINJAs onto the ships mah ! a couple of NINJAs can take out a whole ship liao what !
It must have been a very confusing time for these kids......
I think if Japanese had not attack pearl harbour it might delay involvement by the American.....
Sure as hell works on skyscrapers. You need a big enough plane, though.
brain wash the kids and give them a lethal weapon, you pity the kids or pity the victims?
one kamikazi crashed into a warship, one jap pilot died, many american died, so shoot the damn jap down first!
Were planes and pilots' life cheaper than bombs? Else, why do this and not to drop bombs?

huh ? you fell for the 9/11 hoax too ah ?
EACH of the twin towers were designed to be hit by THREE B-757 sized planes at the same time and still keep standing.
there are TONS and TONS of evidence by experts and witnesses that clearly prove the twin towers and tower 47 were all demolished !
later , George Bush that idiot also let slip by saying that ''the towers were PULLED ''

pearl harbour was an inside job !
the Japs got no choice but to attack US as the US wanted to provoke the Japs by placing an embargo on the Japs and they can't survive without getting oil and other resources from Southeast Asia.
What rubbish!
The fact that this video exists illustrates the sad reality that most Japanese only think of themselves as victims rather than perpetuators of the war and the atrocities they committed. This video is another sign of that complex. Current day Japanese suffer from some kind of amnesia, a result of a misguided education system. They can better learn from the Germans. Look, are the Germans worse off after they admitted to the truth of their past?

Its not them to blame on.... Its the government.......

Credit? I think it was Patton who said, "You job is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his!"
Japan's war was screwed the moment they pulled off Pearl Harbor. They were lucky their entire race was not wiped out.

hmm.....don't think there was much japanese civil government left. I believe it was practically run by imperial military and Hirohito to manifest his destiny.
You people need to stop thinking that the Allies were always the good guys. I find it disturbing that some very parochial comments are being made by what seems to be 15-year-old kids.

i fully agree with you.
Note I am not an apologist for Imperial Japan, I am fully aware of the excesses perpetuated by its military.
We need to note that for every evil Kempeitai officer, there is also a private who just wanted to get the war over and done with and go home to his family.
I find the opening scene most poignant - the boys seem to be so happy...then later on did I realise they were spirits...
Most of the kamikazes were barely out of their teens, what a waste of lives...
war got no good or bad guys
Some thoughts of kamikazes before they died.
To Masanori and Kiyoko,
Your father cannot be seen to your eyes, but he is always watching over you. Listen well to what mother tells you and don't make her worry. And when you grow up, take any profession you like, and become a respectable Japanese citizen. Don't be envious of your friends' daddies. Your Daddy, Masanori and Kiyoko, has become a god and is always watching you. You two study hard, and help your mother with her chores too. Masanori and Kiyoko, Daddy can't play horse with you anymore, but you two chum up and hang close to each other.
Your Daddy was a jolly fellow who got on board a big heavy bomber and wiped out the enemy. You two grow up and be as strong as Daddy, and please avenge my death.
From Father
Lt. Col. Masanobu Kuno, Third Independent Kokutai, KIA 5/24/'45 at age 29
The will was written for his children, five and three years old.
I felt the moment of transition from life to death approaching me minute by minute. I gave up my effort to sleep and let my thoughts wander around. My short life of 21 years is going to switch to the world of death tommorrow. Some vague thoughts about my soul being enshrined in Yasukuni Shrine, about the incomprehensive world of death, and other thoughts came and went. I thought thee were more things I wanted to do in my life, but then I wasn't sure what it was that I wanted to do. I didn't know what, but I was certain there was still much that I had left to do here. I felt embarassed to realize that I was still so attached to life after all this time. What a coward! Shame on myself!
I would say to myself "So are you ready now?" and there was a self that would answer " Yes sir! I'm ready to go", but there was still another self who never stopped yelling "I don't want to die!"

Yes, he is supposed to be the moderator of this forum...to think he would come up with narrow-minded comments. It is one thing to know a lot about military hardware, it is another thing to understand the context where they were or would be used.
