I heard there was a good view from the pedestrian bridge at Suntec.
Any one got pictures? TIA

What armour was that on that leopard?
Interesting pics of the Leopard 2.
The leading tank seems to be the 'original' Leo2. The ones behind appears to have
'spaced' armour on the mantlett and on the front and sides of the turret.
Looks similar to the Merkava 'armour' upgrade. Doesn't look like 'reactive' armour
Looks like there is also " bar " armor at the rear.
Also looks like no additional armor was installed on top of turret roof. And of course we will not be able to tell if add belly armor was added.
The suspension shud also have been upgraded to take on additional armor.
I wonder what will the new weight of the upgraded L2A4 will be now.
Hope that SAF adds an Active Defence System & RWS ( if not , a gunshield will be appropriate for the gunner's pintle mounted MG ), improved FC system, latest gen CITV, new engine ? etc in the future.
Eh you can also watch it at the junction of Bras Basah Rd/Nicoll Highway...
From what i sawa last week, the vehicles[3 column] will split up and return to Nat stadium area to form up/disperse...
2 return columns will return via Esplanade Bridge, 1 will turn right from Raffles Boulevard...
For leopard shots...
junction near Westin will also be a good vantage point
Some of the Leopard 2A4s have been upgraded to EVO (short for Evolution) by IBD Deisenroth.
You can read more about it here:
http://www.ibd-deisenroth-engineering.de/leopard-2a4-evolution.html
(not sure if it has the Active Defense System, AMAP-ADS, maybe they'll opt for Iron Fist or Trophy?)
Oh yeah... there is slat armour as well... beside the engine and on the side of the turret to the rear...
there is also additional frontal amour over the the chasis.... and also the upgraded Leo2 seems to have 'thicker' 'skirts' over its suspension.

The website does not state that SAFs L2A4s have been installed with this armor. So how one tell that it is indeed from IBD ?

I got the info from another blog (they seemed pretty certain about it). Check out the photo of uparmoured Leopard shot from above from this thread:
http://www.defencetalk.com/forums/military-photos-videos/singapore-army-pictures-10396/
Then compare to photo of IBD Deisenroth's Leopard Evo by gary1910 on this thread:

Another giveaway is the special hinges of the modular armour, which allows them to be replaced or simply moved out of the way when refueling or performing maintenance - they are identical (bet SAF's Leos and IBD's Evo package) in the photos posted by OPSSG.
Thats a great post from OldBird69.Always helpful when conclusions or inferences are based on credible information & well informed forumers.
We will probably not see any Active Protection Systems on our L2s in public even if SAF has them. But we can be sure that they will at the very least be installed in the future shud they prove to be effective.
i would like to see an entire fleet of C130 formation flyby.....the roaring pro engine.....
There's a good view at Marina barrage, out side Marina MRT (where you can see the F15s do the combat turns -- a series of turns then a near vertical climb and leveling
i saw in youtude the sneak preview of the NDP. I didn't see any MLRS on display...?
Saw this os old parliament building, din noe we bought leopard BPz3 Buffalo
Leopard operators...
so where is a good spot to watch the mobile driveby and watch the flyby and within walking distance to watch the fireworks.
Glaring absence- where is HIMARS?

that was not shown probably not back in SG.
It is probably still sensitive. If other people do not parade their MLRS on their Independence Day, neither shall we.
