The Royal Malaysian Air Force had revamp its decision to retire it MIG-29, 10 will be keep in service till 2016 instead of looking for new fighters
mig 29's are decent planes i think and its prudent that they maintain that capability...for now at least.. but more interests in what kinda fighters would they go for after 2016?
flip flop
There are disadvantages to not changing a/c early. The cheaper planes become more expensive due to inflation. Tech for cheaper planes become outdated.
Due to inflation, it will cost more to replace planes in the future than current.
The advantages are of course that planes are better tech, assuming one can afford the later tech. In MY's case, budget will drive the procurement.
