I was being posted by a question, How do we defend against such unconventional attacks?
The North Koreans are rumoured to have Human Torpedo and Human Bombs, the Japanese uses Kamikaze Fighter during the WWII. How can we defend ourselves against enemies who have the intention to die (suicide attack).
Even the recent Russian Metro bombing was done by suicide individuals. Nothing can be prevented unless our enemies are given hope of a better life than for them to die for a cause.
With all these High tech equipment, we are still as vulnerable as before.
that's the beauty of it............so that hi tech nations can still get hurt by weak ones..............
problem is the powerful nations can use these ''simple'' weapons to stage false-flag attacks like 9/11 and then blame it on someone else before whacking them................US, UK and especially Israel are the masters of these kind of dirty tricks.

The question is not a better hope of life but agreeing to a list of demands.
all depends lah...............for example, Israel have stolen Palestine from the Palestinians............obviously they have the right to demand the return of their land and homes...........
with today's media being mostly controlled by a handful of people, the rest of the world don't know the truth as to who is the true aggressor or ''terrorist''...............
you can be sure US and UK trops won't get killed if they all returned home..............to shift the blame of their killings from the real ones that are responsible, the Western media misled the public into thinking the muslims are the bad guys..........just because the powerful elite wants to control the muslims' oil and gas.........
This question u must ask the China chinese ppl.Their population is so big they cant really control. One day, they cant even feed them!
Only if u have a population overcrowding problem then u start thinking of using human lives as weapons.
Humans grow like bunnies rabbits. If u are an alien,u are afraid of human coming to eat, polute and shit on ur home planet!!!

That's why Mas Selamat couldn't have swam to Malaysia. Canoe, maybe.

Some of the material in the first article is similar to the document entitled - ‘Underwater Intruder Detection Sonar for Harbour Protection : State of the Art Review and Implications – NATO Undersea Research Centre - October 2006’
In 1984, there were reports of numerous unknown intrusions into Swedish water that resulted in an accumulation of ‘Swedish experience in hunting alien submarines near top-secret naval base’.
Any explosive devices dropped into the sea - from hand grenades to depth charges - can create cause different levels of damage to the human body even when protected behind steel hulls.
The main assets of the Port of Singapore Authority are all located in the south, and if your ‘Swimmer Detection System’ is used - it will be unlikely to be installed as a protective screen around the entire Singapore Island.
More likely, it will be used to protect selective high value assets such as the RSN Bases at Changi and Jurong.
It is unlikely that Mas Selamat Kastari could have crossed into Malaysia by canoe - not when there are the string of Singapore Coast Guard patrol boats with night vision equipment patrolling the coastline for any floating object larger or about the size of a human body.
A small head bobbing in the water may escape detection, and even more difficult to spot when quietly breaking water surface every now and then to take a breath.
From the ‘History of Naval Manned Torpedoes’ - it was developed as early as in November 1918, when two Italian divers sank the Austrian cruiser 'Viribus Unitas' in Pola Harbour.
In 1941 and 1942, during WW2 the Italians demonstrated again the successful use of "Human Torpedos" to attack British Naval Bases in Malta, Gibralta and Alexandria.
These were naval divers - or "frogmen" - riding on the torpedoes and releasing the torpedos at a distance before swimming to safety.
Some of these Italian naval team were captured alive with their equipment, and which allowed the British to form their own Naval Diving Team after a year of intensive training and development - which resulted in an underwater ‘Chariots’ .
As WW-2 progressed, the British launched successful raids to sink the Italian capital ships taking refuge in their naval bases and prevented these potent capital naval ships from falling into Nazi hands.
For the future protection of harbours and naval bases - we can draw from the foreign R&D investments and solutions being developed or available by the security industry -

maybe Mas Selamat had a snorkel so he was in fact a human submarine............as for our Coast Guard, those guys would be struggling to stay awake at night................they're lucky if their patrol boats don't get beached while they slept...............no BS...........
Situation between the North and South Korea is very tense Now!
Human torpedoes blamed for sinking of South Korean ship
April 23rd, 2010 - 12:31 pm
London, April 23 (IANS) North Korean “human torpedoes” have been blamed for last month’s sinking of a South Korean ship, a media report said Friday.
The elite North Korean “human torpedo” squads were said to involve small submarines, Sky News reported.
The small vessels are taken so close to the target that their torpedoes or explosives blow up both the target and the attackers.
The South Korean Navy ship carrying 104 crew members sank in the Yellow Sea March 26.
The 1,500-tonne ship sank near the island of Baengnyeong, which is near North Korea but controlled by South Korea.
The South Korean navy had been alerted by Korea’s Defence Intelligence Command that North Korean suicide squads were being deployed, according to South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reported.
The vessels navigated by the suicide squad can be also be timed to explode while the attackers escape from the vessel.
“It is the military intelligence’s assessment that the North attacked with a heavy torpedo,” a military source was quoted as saying by the news agency Yonhap.
Military intelligence officers warned earlier this year that North Korea was preparing a suicide submarine attack on a South Korean vessel in retaliation for an earlier defeat in a sea battle, a newspaper said Thursday.

that still don't explain why they did not detect the inbound torpedo instead it was blaming an internal accident?
You mean sucide bomber by the terrorists' cell? Human torpedo makes me think of tying a human to a guided missile for launch.
