it's a turbo-prop plane.. what use does RSAF have for these things?

we got the more advanced and powerful derivative - PC-21, for basic training
More importantly, there's a very stringent safety cum maintenance programme. Lessons from the skyhawk era.
Back in the 70s/80s, there were 40+ rsaf accidents in each decade. Nowadays, the rsaf number has gone down significantly to under 1 a year. That's an accident rate under 1/2 that of rmaf whilst operating more a/c and at a higher tempo with very long ferry missions.
Having the plane and maintenance are 2 seperate issued.....
