nothing new to show !!! this year airshow is so boring .
it happen. its recession year....since there are no budget for expansion. I doubt there are any decent contracts.
i am only curious about how an unmanned submarine works?
It should be in much the same way as a torpedo. Propulsion/controls controlled generally by wire, acoustic modems, RF modem.
Example here:

Pls lah....it got nothing to do with suspicious....or snake....lah. It reflect the level of interest....you see what if Australia or new zealand would be able to generate that much interest?
Some pics from today's aerial display:
Single pass by a visiting B-52.
RSAF F-16 and AH-64
What I feel to be the most entertaining one: The A-10 Thunderbolt II
Note the false canopy and the GAU-8!
Next up was the T-50...
The T-50 bears close resemblence with the F-16.
This one is an Italian trainer.
Not all performers were uploaded....cos I'm tired. (and sun-burnt)
The F-111 sadly, did not perform, after suffering an engine fire scare on Thursday, so that kinda took some of the shine off, but the visit paid by the B-52 from Guam compensated that a little, even if it was just a single pass.
The T-50 is predominantly marketed as a lead in fighter trainer (ie, the trainer that pilots fly before moving on to a real fighter), hence it has been designed to actually fly like one of the 4th n 5th gen aircraft. The RoKAF's most advanced fighter until the F-15K was the F-16C/D block 52 (or KF-16), thus the much of the T-50s design and performance somewhat reflects the F-16.
As you can see, the T-50 is being aggressively marketed to Singapore, the largest F-16 operator in SEA. Other than having very similar flight characteristics to the F-16, another benefit to the T-50 being adopted by the RSAF would be its secondary capability as an LCA. Equipped with the AN/APG-67v4 radar, the trainer can employ munitions like the AIM-9 sidewinder, unguided bombs and precision guided munitions.
That however may be unlikely to win extra brownie points in the RSAF's selection for an AJT.

Singapore Aborts Flight Show After Safety Breached by T-50 Golden Eagle jet
Singapore aborted a flight display at its international airshow on Thursday after a South Korean pilot steered his jet too close to spectators, witnesses and the show organiser said.An aerial display, which was supposed to last for eight minutes, was shortened to less than half that after the error by the T-50 Golden Eagle jet, owned by the Korean Aerospace Industries."The T-50 Golden Eagle's flight this afternoon was observed to have infringed the safety boundaries and the pilot was instructed to terminate his flying display as a precaution," Singapore Airshow's Marilyn Ho said in an email to Reuters.....................Reuters

SWAK : smart wing adapter kit used for smart bomb (photo : DesignationSystem)Singapore's ST Kinetics has unveiled a new precision range extension kit for dumb bombs, the Smart Adaptor Adapter Kit or SWAK. The SWAK is a pop-out wing system that can be strapped to a standard 500lb, 1,000lb or 2,000lb general-purpose bomb allowing the modified weapon to glide for 65km or more. A tail firing include incorporates a GPS-aided inertial navigation system that gives the weapon a precision attack capability over long ranges. The SWAK can be carried by most fighter aircraft, says ST Kinetics, with or without a MIL STD 1760 weapon bus connector.

ST Electronics is unveiling the Starfish Autonomous Underwater Vehicle at the 2010 Singapore Airshow.
Starfish is a 200mm self-propelled autonomus underwater robot, designed for commercial, oceanic, research or military users. The underwater robot was developed by the Acoustic Research Lab of the Tropical Marine Science Institute at the National University of Singapore and is currently being commercialized in collaboration with ST Electronics.
On a mission, Starfish is programmed to follow a route to carry out a routine mission, employing on-board sensors to sample the surrounding seawater or seabed as it moves through the ocean. Starfish can be programmed to carry out spatial and time series measurements. It can also be used to inspect ship hulls, and perform seabed surveys, environmental studies and marine surveys.

Terrex
It was all a matter of balance. Of getting it right before getting it out.
If you make it too wide, you’ll need bigger tires and stronger supports, which makes it heavier. If it’s too narrow, it can’t carry as many passengers. Use a double wishbone suspension, it’ll be more comfortable for the troops but it’s more complicated to maintain.
So the engineers designed it so that each choice of material, mechanical work and electrical components do not hinder but support each other.
Sounds easy? Try keeping track of the interactions between 468 different components and systems.
