Mindef used to be at Tanglin Barracks (and previously at empress place). http://www.mindef.gov.sg/imindef/about_us/history/maturing_saf/v01n11_history.html Malaysian railway land is actually 999 year leasehold (due year 2917).   the reality is tat it's not 999 yrs afterall as if Malaysia ceases train svs for too long, Singapore could take e land back

  Which makes it patriotic not to take train from Tanjong Pagar. KTM has been making massive losses of RM100+ million every year since at least 2003. Looks like die die also will continue the train service.

  like I said ... they do it out of bloody-mindedness ..... 

  I was told until badawi came to power, the sign at tanjong pagar railway station says " Welcome to Malaysia" .... shows you how much the mamak before pak lah hated Singapore, eh ? ....

  and of course, again, the CIQ issue.
