Malaysian PT-91 M and 1 st Tank Unit by June 2009

Malaysia first tank unit Regimen Ke-11 Kor Armor Diraga based in Gemas will have all (48 ) its PT-91 Ms as reported in Janes International Defence Review ( Mar 09 ).
It has impressive capabilities & specifications : -
125 mm gun , Thales radio comms, SSP-1 Obra-3 self protection system ( laser warning & smoke grenades ) , ERAWA-1 Explosive Reactive Armor, French Sagem Savan 15 fire controls and VIGY 15 gyro stabilized panoramic sight ( for hunter killer capability ) , laser gyro INS, all electric ( no vulnerable hydraulics ) stabilized turret from EADS, 1000 hp engined mated to Renk transmission.
The Malaysians have also wisely not neglected to include supporting armor including six ARVs, three heavy engineering vehicles and five Leguan armored assault bridges ( 26 m MLC60 ).
The plan is to follow up with two more armored battalions.
