Hmm, I remember under the AWB, it was limited to a certain number?
2nd pic is the New Steyr AUG that will be release by Steyr ! the camoflage AUG U see is made by a US company here call MSAR. YEs! they have gone to all PIcatinny rails so you can put all the nice ninja stuff and make your AUG feel like a GPMG! :)... the integral scope for the AUG can be remove on the A2 versioin of the AUG! and you can slide in a P rail! with this new A3 version looks like the P rail is already on! LOL!

Hi, LL!
If memory serves, the AWB that was in effect from 1994 to 2004 limited the capacity of new magazines manufactured during the ban to a capacity of 10 rounds. Magazines with capacities of over 10 rounds that were manufactured prior to the ban were still legal; unsurprisingly, these so-called "pre-ban" or "high-capacity" magazines went for a premium during the ban.
Unfortunately, there is talk of the Obongo administration reinstating a similar or more restrictive version of the AWB sometime real soon, and this is fueling the current run on firearms in this country and driving prices into the stratosphere. The prices of AR-pattern rifles, for example, have more than doubled, and there are currently chronic shortages of ammo at the retail level.
i remembered 2 companies beside steyr curning out AUG clones...
STG 556 anyone?
btw canada last ye have civvie TAR-21 liao...but price tag sibei high.
F2000's, P90's ,aug and clones all trying out for the bullpup market in US.
bullpup system did not pick up in the US! I don't think it will with the M4/ M16 type systembeing the prefered way of operations.
the STG556 from MSAR , FN's P2000 and P90 even the AUG did not sell as well! NO TAR21 here in US!again! also the mfr price all these guns way too much!
At one time we are getting an M4 type rifle for $800! a P2000 is $2000! that kind of also drive people away from it! and parts and spares are expensive with the FN, Steyr etc!
