Huge MY Commando camp in Mersing

It is interesting to know that MY established a huge Commando camp,
The size is two third of Changi Airport,100 km from SG.
This is called Iskandar Military Camp,about 15 km south of Mersing,JB.
Any country has her right to put army camp.Right?
So no need to be suprised.just accept the fact.
SG also get camps within 20 km from Causeway.Right?
U may want to know that MY is going to close down a small camp,
Majidee Camp,for property development!!

I think they will be happy to share this facility with us. Lionnoisy, please make the necessary enquiries.
We will reciprocate & open up Tekong for them to use. It will make sense in these hard economic times to ensure all facilities on both sides of the causeway are 100 % utilised. Imagine what this will do to enhance bilateral ties.

I don't think singapore has a choice where to locate its military camps or airbases.
Even if you squeeze it at the most southern edge of sentosa, you could still say its 50 clicks from the causeway. -

An F-15 flight hour cost ~US$8,000. Even factor in 7,000 litre of fuel use (let's say it use afterburner), also add $14,000 at most (assuming super expensive US$2 per litre, US sold Israel JP-8 @ less than US$0.60-1.3 per litre). Then add 6 GBU-10s or JDAMs at US$50,000 each = $300,000. Total cost = US$322,000 for 12,000lbs of tritonal delivered.
Each ATACMs cost US$1+m each and only has a 250lb warhead. That's why SG went for the M31 pod which has 6 rockets instead (each rocket probably cost ~US$1XXk).

Actually, if one looks at my earlier post, one would note that none of the words/phrase:
"attack", "invade", "etc" nor "lah" appears.
Having said that, I have posted the words "attack, invade, etc, lah" many times as a consequence in this post which basically rebuts the presumption that these should not be mentioned.
Just highlighting a fact that ATACMs are more expensive than a F-15 sortie with 6 GBUs or JDAMs. It is incorrect to read it as "attack, invade anyone".
So to conclude, I would say let's invade Malaysia with new year greetings and attack anyone who refuses to be polite. Lah, etc.

why complain about commando camp in Mersing ? when there's an air defence camp some 10km away from the causeway ? why raise the issue of an commando camp near singapore if you do not wish to imply a country vs country scenario ?

in air defence term of distances, thats like literally a pebble's throw away. if malaysia ever decided to base a bunch of decent sams with tracker radar there, Tengah airbase aircraft are screwed.

I say MY has every right to position the Camp,just like SG has her right
to place her camps.West MY measure about 700 km (North to south)x 300 km(the widest).
Why did MY put the camp 100 km north of SG?
SG is just abt 60 x 40 km,with little choice of locations lah..
The armoured camp,with swimming APC,is also near the boarder.

MY Armed Forces isn't the technically the strongest armed forces in Asean...
it juz happen that they have the long coast line facing the straits of malacca...
For MBT,so what if MY got the new,first hand equipment ??? In the end if we square off against each other,i dun believe in new stuffs can win over 2nd hand stuff,what i believe in the efficient of our SARs to give our boys the training to have the edge over then enemy.
For fighter jets,hello !!!! Take off from either one of the air bases,10 mins later u are in their airspace,how to train in SG??? MY have a lot of airspace to play abt,so be it. Of cuz must train in US,Australia or France. RSAF participated in Red Flag,our boys also gave their Top Gun a run for their money. You must not forget we have the F15-SG,the lastest variant in the F15 family. 101 proven air combat victories and 0 downed.
Why the big hooha abt MLRS,we signed it late cuz we are really sure that is what we want. U tink any Tom, Dick or Harry can buy wan ar ???

lol. Sometimes better to be behind.
SG's MBT may be older but cheaper and better (upgradable, better armour protection, superior munitions etc) and twice the number.
SG's frigates may have been ordered later but delivered earlier with superior missiles, LO tech and reliability.
Fighters may train in the US for the initial years but they get the best training and they can be redeployed when needed.
SG's MLRS may enter service later but pack a bigger and more accurate punch.
SG's subs may be older but in these littoral waters, sensor detection is equally bad. They also outnumber MY's subs 3 to 1 (and overall still cost far cheaper) and have upgraded electronics and scopes.
This type of neighbour, best kind. Bully come, get neighbour to fight.
