Dunt trust the future combat sys.Trust NOW.Future is uncertain.
The wars or conflicts will not wait for the delivery of your equipments
and weapons. It may come next year, next month or next week.
Readiness is your only protections.
I dunt say SG gears is the best. But i can say this is the best
that SG can give to SAF.
Here are the examples that Active protection systems# are
fitted in SAF:MEXAS--L in Bronco and MEXAS-M in Bioniv.
But i cant find the model in the site listed below.
Are they refer to AMAP--L and M?Pl help to carlify.
I read from net that there are some discussions that Bionix
are fitted with MEXAS.search Google by Bionix + MEXAS
then u know.
Which one is fitted in Bionix or Bronco?

1) Please refrain from posting information about restricted doctrine and equipment which are not in public domain. If its supposed to be classified, let it STAY classified!
2) Public domain information should be accompanied by the source of information. At the very least, references should ideally include the name of the publication as well as the date of the publication (Month/Year), or a link the full URL should it come from a website. And no, information from material restricted to MINDEF personnel doesnt count as public domain information!
3) Separate facts from rumours. If youve been told about something your friends brother girlfriends brother heard/saw, state it as such. In addition, if what youve been told is supposed to be classified, rule (1) applies
Actually, I noticed something: Apparently, the company IBD that makes the AMAP and MEXAS armour proposed an "evolution" AMAP armor package for the Leopard 2A4. This is interesting in that there might not be need to upgrade our A4 to A5/A6 standard, but instead do an electronics/optronics upgrade and add this "evolution" AMAP armour package instead.

You are not the first guy to speculate this.
tankie1981 did it on another forum i think. either him or someone else. Currently for the leopard 2, the only known/official upgrades done to the L2 was the addition of BMS.
future batches may be currently undergoing improved armour upgrading. its interesting to note that of the 100 ++ leopards we ordered (66 +36+ spares) , i dont think all are in singapore yet.
Teo Chee Hean has gone on the record saying about the Leopard going for refurbishment with KMW. but what kind of "refurbishment" i m not even going to bother to speculate. probably too sensitive to release.maybe you could ask a guy from 48 SAR ?
The only reliable people to ask are the DSTA and Mindef G5 and HQ Armour fellas involved in the issue but yeah...

I saw an issue of JDW commenting on the AMAP. It brings the L2A4 protection level to be on par with that of the L2A6.
As for the mentioned armor package for the bx and bronco, I don't recall this being disclosed in open domain.
Lionnoisy, if you got that info via public domain, please scan or show us the link, otherwise it might not be good to comment too much. Later big brother go look for our dear admin...
edited.

Bronco ATTC:
The all-welded steel armoured hull provides the occupants with protection from 7.62 mm ball small arms fire and shell splinters but an enhanced modular passive protection package has been developed for the ATTC by IBD of Germany.
Here the link to IBD's Product In Use page:
http://www.ibd-deisenroth-engineering.de/products-in-use.html
If you move your cursor over the BX, you see that it said MEXAS-M is use with BX, & if you move it over Bronco, it MEXAS-L is in use with the Bronco.
So Lionnoisy has already provided the link.
Alright, thanks gary for confirming.
To answer lionnoisy qn, I think I know the answer, I believe MEXAS armour come in 3 flavours. Light, Medium and Heavy.
So MEXAS-M is the medium protection level and MEXAS-L is the lightest of the 3 & thus offered the least protection level of the 3.
Info I got it from here:

At DSEi 07, the Finnish Advanced Modular Vehicle (AMV) 8x8 APC developed by Patria was 'dressed' with the (ADS) designed by the German IBD Deisenroth Engineering. Weighing about 400 kg, the system incorporates a modular design of multiple defensive elements, integrating the energetic material, laser sensors and activation systems in capsuled modules, installed around the vehicle providing 360° protection against RPGs and other shaped charge threats (The company claims AMAP-ADS also defeats kinetic energy threats as well as IEDs).
The AMV installation on display at DSEi used an armor base plate designed to mitigate the blast effect from transferring to the vehicle's structure. APAM-ADS is claimed to provide close-range, non-fragmental defeat of threats (possibly by blast effect) therefore minimizing collateral damage, facilitating use in a dense urban environment. In the past IBD disclosed few details about the system's design, including the use of laser triggered blast effect, but the company did not elaborate on the actual kill mechanism of its defensive solution. The AMV on display at DSEi also included the Remotely Operated Driver's Vision Enhancer (RODVE2-D), a compact, steerable, panoramic, thermal imager for the driver developed by Thales Canada.
Although launched only a few years ago, the AMV has already won a number of major international competitions and has so far been ordered by Croatia (84), Finland (24 with 120mm AMOS and 62 APCs), Poland (690), Slovenia (135) and South Africa (264).---EOQ
Seriously, I don't care what they're fitted with, just don't ask me to do it, my body can't take it anymore. Just bringing my barang barang up to bunk is a killer already.
