previously called:
Joint
Services Small Arms Systems Annual Symposium,
Exhibition and Firing Demonstration
search by year u want or try the format i list above but chz the year.
Info reliable but u have to think also
The sample conferences i have seen are full of slides.
Damn interesting.Of couse,u have to use your brain to think.
Dunt buy their info so easy.
They are top brass in armed force, defense procurement/research/manufacturing
etc.No one want to blacken their names by giving fake or wrong info.Right?
By making presentations in these US National conferences,
they put their heads on a chopping board.
I think the info are much reliable than those in the internet.
Do u think where are the sources of info in the internet?
Most ,if not all of them, come from
these conferences,
offical press release
offical annual reports,
magazines(open to public or internal).
blogs,
medias reports
Defence Department medias release or photos

Info on the net can be used as a reference or stepping stones to verify
the info or cross references to see any mismatch.
For example,a system of under barrel Airbursting GL on rifle can
only work with ABS grenade.U need a FCS on the GL !!
If anyone tell u any such sys can work,U have to ask
-----model of ABS grenade, who is the contractor,
has it been approved by relevant gavamna authority.
for example,u can check US site
/www.dtic.mil
the status, budget, conferences presentations etc to verify
the stauts of ABS GL,its FCS and ABS grenades.
The whole sys cant work if any one item is missing!!
Becareful to distinguish if the info there is ti decribe the current
status of just the intended performances.
Always ask what is the status:
Under development
under productions with approved testing
in Services etc.
Here are many new doors to reliable military technical info.
Spread the words around.Ask your buddies think after read any info.
This X'mas holiday will not be the same like last years!!
Look for updates.
read this if u are very busy.

some very obvious glaring mistakes here.
i shall do you some credit and point out only 2 major ones. i want to see you figure the rest out.
1) AGENDA : in case you havent realized . weapons procurement is not a simple thing like going to the supermarket and picking a loaf of bread off the shelf.
it can be. but it usually is not. especially in the States where you got a pluralistic community with different people supporting different platforms with various interests at stake at multiple levels ; public , private and vested.
e.g a Marine corps general can go on the record saying that the MV-22 is good, but he privately prefers more EFV to be procured and may have a vested interest in saying MV-22 is good because bell-boeing might give him a Job or position after his retirement.
DONT, let me repeat for emphasis, DONT talk about "reliability" and "credibility" if you havent got a fundamental grasp of this. its like asking a toddler who's moving his pedal powered car around to drive a hummer. absurd, ridiculous and complete nonsense
2) INFORMATION VS MISINFORMATION:
well, i m sure the US army, USMC, US navy USAF are all stupid enough to put all their information, especially mission critical information out on the web for lionnoisy and other forummers to appreciate.
Mindef will probably be affirming the existence of the tempest on the front page of straits times and announce exactly how much weapons we store at which ammo dump too.
wake up your idea lionnoisy. dont come here and talk bullcrap about information credibility.
no one with an ounce of brain will even consider putting sensitive stuff online. sometimes stuff gets leaked, yes i agree, sometimes its a big leak, sometimes its a small leak. but no one will ever put Critical Data avaliable on the web. period. rule of thumb, fact. thats why there's a simple thing called industry insider and industry outsider.
tactical doctrine, Mission Critical information is unlikely to be revealed online. imagine why so many insiders pay good money to Janes for information and analysis if they can get whatever they want from online PDF releases ?
and sadly, nicely put together pictures of UAV, a tank here and there, some grunts with lines to draw and connect them together mean absolutely nothing.
why would people be in need of job called defence analysts and generals paid to spend time to think and formulate doctrine if they are going to give it all free away on the internet ?
you want to post, fine, by all means. have some logical reason to post if not im going to tear your reasoning to shreds till the T-rex comes back.
Dic pauca, fac plura
plus please cut the number of links, i went through all and most arent even remotely related to 40mm ABS GL. and those that are, mention it superficially. like one-line or one-paragraph reference.

answer the bloody qn lionnoisy. i know u are here in the morning. u posted on your thread.
This thread should be locked.
Lionnoisy has his own thread to spam. What's the use of starting a new one?
he's itching to get pwned.
besides, MOD is busy with exams i think.

1.u seem come forward to defend for USA procurement!!
Good.Every one in US will try to look for his own interest.
Procurement,as u say,is not so simple.
I think u mean just becos of my language then i dunt understand.
u may be right.
But look at the reality and outcome of this complicated system!!
The sys just cannot give the best to Yankees in front line, like small
arms!!Or may be the pride of yankees keep them from
using foreign products.
Mk 47 auto GL is not listed in US Army web site?WHy?Is it a top secret?
or is it operational?
FYI,Jane's INfantry Weapon classify this under the country
INTERNATIONAL,not under USA!!
Like FN 2000 ABS GL.Is it workable,now?
Secret info
I think i know i cant get on web.Thanks.
@@@@@@@
now look at the outcome of the not so simple US procurement system.
They are using few decades old small arms and u guys
just jump out to defend why Yankees are still using it.
Take M 16 and M 4 as example. What are the major changes in the past
50 years?Dunt tell me the facial changes.
Tell me the changes in mechanism! The signts! The weight! The overll capabilty!

frankly aside from your first point i dont understand wth u are trying to say.
1) i am NOT defending US procurement system. i m trying to explain it to you how it works in a extremely simplified manner.
2) please type english and make your points. dont go
BLAH BLAH BLHAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BLA BLA BLA : "BAL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ALLA BA BLA BBL AL BLA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BAH BLAH
i still dont get what are you trying to say for the 2nd point.
3) secret info ?
correction : i was wrong, you not only cannot differentiate between secret and open-access information.
YOU are trumpeting your open-access information as TRUTH AND FACTS AND "RELIABLE INFORMATION"
when u dont even understand why people are publishing this particular piece of information and a basic inkling of how the US procurement system works, how interests come into conflict and play.
in summary, your information is out of context. you are looking at it at the level of , heres a coke can in singapore. proof that coke reaches singapore, when you dont examine the bigger picture issues like, how globalization has introduced coke to singapore, who allows coke to be brought to singapore, is this cultural imperialism ? why do people like coke ? are they influenced by media/advertising ? why dont we have a local version/substitute of coke. etc, et nauseaum.
you are taking it at a one-dimensional level.
looking at your "outcome of NOT SO SIMPLE US procurement system". you conveneiently hide the truth. what about the Xm8 system ? XM29 ? USMC SAW repalcement weapon ? SOCOM weapon replacement ? the 0.5 HMG replacement ?
you blindly stick to your viewpoint that the US is stuck at a certain level of procurement and acquisition, when in all due truth, it has considered multiple weapons and platforms.
on one very , extremely simplistic level, i can agree with you that yes, they are stuck with old tech. but when u appreciate the context, the messy procurement system with lobby groups and the gear that they are using now, with SCAR being used for SOCOM, newer sniper rifles being fielded in Iraq/afghanistan, improved/better modular system for the M4.
it all dosent add up. yes, the US is stuck with old weapons platform. but how much of this is due to choice and how much is actually related to politics ? it may be an old weapon platform, but how much of it is new/redesigned/improved ?
if i go by your logic. few decade old small arms, does that mean that the USN is developing a railgun for the zumwalt class, so the USarmy and USMC should wait for the technology to develop and minaturise and use it for personal arms la ? dosent make sense.
old small arms dosent make a difference. in fact, sometimes, old is gold. there are a few reports of the M14 being recalled into service by the USMC early in the iraq war due to its larger calibre 7.62 and penetrating power.
why should i bother about the changes in individual weapons ? are you myopic in your thinking ? an individual weapon does not bother me. a weapons system and family is what i m looking at. for all the flaws of a m4 modular system. ild pick it over the stock SAR21 anyday. better scopes, lighter, more versatality.
and u made another big boo-boo.
cant u differentiate between the FN2000 ELGM and SCAR ELGM ? you talked about one, i pwned you about the SCAR ELGM in the other thread. how come never reply on that thread but want to raise the issue here ? itching to get pwned ?
now u are bringing back the FN2000 ELGM nonsese again ? think twice and think fast about using that example before i post all the pics of the FN2000 that SG TY posted here again.
fact : FN2000 ELGM and FCS is in service with mulitple nation
FACT : SCAR ELGM and FCS is derived from FN2000 and currently in stage 3 of OTOE (operational testing operator Evaluation) SOCOM review and has been selected under SOCOM's grenade launcher replacement program.
Tell the truth and shame the fuckin' devil, pussy. You just channel your grandmother's spirit to get all the crap you post here, so don't give us this bollocks about "reliable sources" when you can't even bloomin' read or write.

Jane's supplies you with a choice of 18 separate information sources
providing the most up-to-date intelligence. With this high level of
specialisation, you can be sure you have access to information that is
reliable and relevant - helping keep research time to a minimum.
Naval Forces
Jane's offers you 18 information options to ensure you keep fully ahead
of all the latest developments affecting maritime defence. From

underwater warfare, Jane's brings you an unrivalled stream of relevant,
filtered information.
Defence Business
Whether you are engaged in procurement or need to keep a close eye on
your competitors, Jane's brings you the latest intelligence on the
business of defence: manufacturers, forecasts, global defence budgets,
naval construction markets and more. With 15 sources of information on
offer, you can ensure regular and authoritative updating on your
specialist areas.
Jane's Security Intelligence Solutions cover three critical areas of national security: country risk, military capabilities and terrorism and insurgency.
The business of security is about staying ahead of active and potential enemies. However, security forces must now deal with an ever-faster proliferation of weapons, from small arms to CBRN. At the same time, advancing technologies give both state and non-state actors (whether terrorists or crime organisations) new capabilities to organise, infiltrate and attack. In this environment, it is essential to have the best possible access to the most up to date information and intelligence. This is why Jane's is moving quickly too: expanding its provision to bring you complete coverage. For example: in the past year we have closely monitored topical issues ranging from the problems caused by ethnic separatism to the links between drugs, people trafficking and terrorist financing. We regularly report on issues of political and social stability in specific countries and, of course, wars, ceasefires and alliances.
Country Risk
Planning for effective protection begins with a full understanding of
the types and sources of risk that you face. That’s why Jane’s
collects, focuses and filters information from across the security
spectrum. You can check on the pertinent dangers affecting individual
countries, or receive intelligence specifically analysing security
forces, equipment and leadership. There are also country risk
assessments available on key topics including bilateral and
multilateral/regional relations, political stability and risks of
coups, crime (including drug, arms and people trafficking), and civil
war. Much of this information and analysis is drawn together in one
intelligence centre, enabling fast access to related information.
Military Capabilities
Whether you are primarily interested in air, land and sea forces – or
all three – Jane’s covers all the bases. Our authoritative perspective
combines the latest information available with independent analysis, so
you can accurately assess strength and vulnerability when making your
own threat analysis. You can find further specialist intelligence on
amphibious and special forces.
Terrorism and Insurgency
With Jane’s, you can have deep insight into your asymmetric
adversaries: we offer you detailed intelligence about the threats faced
by specific countries, or posed by different terrorist groups. You can
also find analysis of terrorism trends by tactic, target or casualties.
Other themes include the financing of terrorism, propaganda,
recruitment and radicalisation; also counterterrorism operations, and
prevention and mitigation strategies. All this crucial information is
brought together in a specific intelligence centre.
Jane's Transport Intelligence Solutions range from integrated resources to titles with a dedicated air, land or sea focus.
Our products investigate, document and analyse major commercial transportation issues on air, land and sea. We draw on our global network of independent researchers, journalists and analysts to produce the highest level of open source intelligence: transport information that is validated, filtered, and organised to provide maximum benefit to our customers. Users from across the transport, defence and security sectors make critical decisions based on Jane's transport intelligence.
Air
Take the high ground in
aerospace with Jane’s comprehensive air transport intelligence. You
will find information and analyses on everything from aircraft
components to world airlines, from air traffic control to airport
issues. Jane’s coverage is unparalleled: to give just one example, we
provide exhaustive technical detail on nearly 1,000 civil and military
aircraft currently being produced or under development. 14 products are
available separately, many of which are also combined in one Transport
Library.
Land
Jane’s provides detailed coverage of railway and urban transport
systems, through dedicated, specialist products. Look ahead with
confidence using Jane’s forecasts, or access the ultimate intelligence
on the railway systems in almost 140 countries worldwide. You will also
find a city by city breakdown of urban transport facilities, along with
supplier and business data, in a wholly dedicated title.
Sea
Jane's sea coverage includes the clearest and quickest way to identify
and analyse merchant vessels, together with the legislation, safety and
other issues that affect their operation. You can also find outlines of
all types of fast marine craft, and details of component and propulsion
systems. Together, these products offer a comprehensive database for
everyone concerned with developments in shipping.
Transport Business
When your focus is on the business side of transport, Jane's offers you
the most comprehensive analysis of sector finance available. Monitor
the high finance of aerospace, or track the costs of railway
development. There are also specialist products available for air, land
and sea transport.
As both society and the threats it faces change, ever more demands are made on those professionals who protect the public. And in addition to dealing with new and established dangers, you also have to cope with the acceleration in security technology, and a proliferation of legislation. In this environment, it is essential to have the best possible access to the most up-to-date information. It is equally essential to have this information validated and organised in a way that makes it easy to access and use. That is why Jane's invests heavily in researching, analysing and documenting law enforcement and public safety issues and developments. Building on our strong record of expertise in law enforcement - Jane's Police Review is the UK's best-selling weekly magazine for police officers and associated professionals - we have created a comprehensive range of authoritative products. yea. and the free information absolutely lacks context. mentions the point, elaborates about the point and thats about it.
dosent explain why the point
dosent explain how the point
dosent explain who's pushing the point
dosent explain contemporary threat scenario
dosent explain financial/budgetary limitations
dosent explain motive of source
dosent examine possible counter arguments
in short, dosent work without caveats in terms of usefelness.
I.E citing from Jane's source are more a liablility as you are quoting out of context without knowing the full intent of the purpose of the article
so lionnoisy, applying your logic and reasoning here, I watched the trailer for Nicole Kidman's Australia and seen Frank Miller's The spirit.
does that mean i am qualified to write a film review about both films ? does that give me insider information about both films ? does that give me any additional data ? does that make me an authority on the subject matter?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.

i m not interested in debunking your nonsense about m777. this is debunking the content and complete lack of contextual information within the garbage you cite from Janes.
its about YOU. LIONNOISY the epic failure. YES. you. dont shy away. dont run away. answer my question. why you cite incomplete/ flawed or partial information?
