I hope Idwar is reading.
Its perfectly alright to pay the ransom. But its your earlier postings in another threats that made this whole thing about deploying Malaysia navy in Somali a "real joke".
Somali Pirates Free Malaysian Chemical Tanker After Ransom Paid
By Hamsa Omar
Sept. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Somali pirates released a Malaysian chemical tanker today after a $2 million ransom was paid, an official said.
Pirates released the tanker, called the Bunga Melati 5, after ``a $2 million ransom was paid,'' Andrew Mwangura, head of the Mombassa-based East Africa Seafarers' Assistance Program, told Bloomberg by phone today.
Somalia's 3,300-kilometer (2,060-mile) coastline is considered one of the world's most dangerous stretches of water because of piracy. The number of attacks on vessels in the region more than tripled last year to 31 incidents, compared with 10 a year earlier, according to the International Maritime Bureau.
the small boy's not malaysian ......

I think he should be investigated ...
lol! after he made so much noise but my commandos going there...
Wait... weren't the RMN ships sent there supposed to protect Malaysian flagged ships? I thought they had all sorts of ship boardin & Jedi prowess to retake a ship?
Heh. Sometimes its better not to say anything and let actions speak for themselves.
Money talks...maybe the ship owners don't trust the prowess of the RMN Special Forces.
Scare they not just take down the pirates but also the ship with the dangerous chemical cargo.
Hahaha...I wonder what Idwar has got to say abt this.
idwar is like another lionnoisy .... when tio pawned or self woend, then diam diam ... wait for thing then anyhow post again .... dumb
idwar was pwned by the actual events this time. A divine sign maybe?
nice..paying ransom instead of hitting the ship. whats the use of having navy special forces in the first place...i think i am joining the pirate business...,,
guys...chill out ..almost all international hostage situation like this will end up in paying ransom...the worst are they let the hostage to die or the family members pay up...it is extremely rare any commando operation.
and im not talking about aircraft or building hostage situation...this is about the pirate keeping the hostage inside their own turf.
accept in hollywood ofcourse.
actually some one have to take the lead to take action rather than keep paying it is becoming a very lucrative business organized crime will be there to pretend to be pirates.
i thought tat idwar has a thread about how good their navy and army is?
now i know...
when they cant solve the problem, they pay...

Might as well say they were there transporting the money?

Well, you have to give them credit for being realistic and pragmatic.
It will be disasterous to lose lives especially military men.
Propaganda is one thing, losing face and lives another.
Why not they just sink the tanker ? And tell them.. sorry, we dun negotiate with terrorists. Hijack some more.. we sink em some more. lol!
the 2 million ... was it in cash, or palm oil ? ..... muahahahahahahaha
2 mil litres of palm oil ?
shit .. no wonder we out of stock at MPOB.
*cough* *cough* *cough*
congrates to malaysia armed forces......
Geee... And I thought they stormed the ship or something.
Basically, they paid ransom, and they were there to "ensure" the hostages were released unharmed, and the ship taken control of?
So it was sort of like a send off for the pirates?
