Think that is very unfair to say the commerical SUV cannot be adapt for military purpose !!! Although ford is not my choice of suv. But a lot of countries military and even U.N have use commerical vehicles for military purpose very successfully - like toyota landcruiser & nissan patrol ... etc.
Your picture show what happen to the suv in iraq, is not fair as even landrover if get hit by that same amount of firepower also cannot survive, it will end up the same.
Some better SUV give landrover a run for their money. They can do and go where landrover can do and go. Please name out what landrover can do that SUV like landcruiser or patrol cannot do ?

storywolf, before you get ahead of urself, SUV is a very broad term.
There are many types of SUVs ranging from those city-dweller Honda Streams to "all-terrain" Toyota Land Cruisers.
Not all SUVs go all-terrain.

For somebody claiming to be an officer, your situtational awareness seems to be zero.
If you didn't realize, the post on the SAF using SUVs was made specifically to lionnoisy for him to answer in HIS OWN LOGIC. If you found it unreasonable it's precisely because it is lionnoisy logic, and if you want to waste your time and energy trying to answer them as if they were actually serious questions then points made to take the mickey of of his sails.
Basically, you are like a guy who goes to watch Tropic Thunder and critique it as if it was supposed to be a movie like Black Hawk Down.
How come your english comprehension and situtational awareness so low one ah? You seem to be out of sync with what is happening in here....

lionnoisy complain about commerical ship use for military. You complain about suv use for military. Do you have to scoop to lionnoisy level just to bait him to talk non-sense - that is scooping way low.

Why post private to lionnoisy when he obviously means for people to respond him in public? Do you want to try responding to him rationally.
The replies to lionnoisy are meant to be wrong and ungair, they are made in his logic to begin with. I have no issues with people pointing out they are wrong or unfair as a matter of fact, except that I find it rather amusing that they seem to miss the big picture when they think these are supposed to be taken seriously by anyone other then lionnoisy.

That said, it is pretty much the agreement in here that such responses to lionnoisy add much humour and entertainment to the forum and hence they will be carried out regardless of your inability to percieve anything thing beyond the literal in here... which is frankly your loss.

Mr Teo conveyed Singapore's gratitude for Australia's provision of training areas to the Singapore Armed Forces, said a statement from Singapore's Ministry of Defence.
Mr Rudd also expressed support for new areas of defence cooperation between the two countries.
Mr Teo arrived in Australia on Thursday on a four-day visit as part of regular ministerial exchanges between the two sides.
