Video of Ambush of Japanese tanks at Bakri along Muar-Parit Sulong Road : (recorded by Australian army cameraman)
http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/specials/noprisoners/video/ambush.ram
On 19 Jan 1942, a company of Japanese T 95 tanks charged headlong into Australian frontlines without infantry support at Bakri in Johore. All 9 tanks were destroyed by only 3 anti-tank guns.
In the video, see the tanks hit by AT rounds, wounded yet they continued to charge. All were later destroyed by HE rounds. The tank crews were killed after they fought to the end in their burning tanks.
The tanks were led by Cpt Shiegeo Gotanda who wanted to prove he was a great tank commander.
Is your commander a fool like Gotanda? Will you follow him into battle if you know you would burn like the crew of the Gotanda Tank Company? Or will you put a stop to his bloody nonsense by "cross-fire" and "friendly-fire"?
You're fucked-up.
During the Yom Kippur War, MG Ariel Sharon ordered his tanks to cross the Suez Canal to its west bank, and sweep northwards to cut off the entire Egyptian armies deep in the Sinai Desert on the east side of the Suez.
Unable to cross back to the Egyptian side of the Suez Canal, most of the Eyptian army capitualated to the advancing Israeli forces.
Before capitulating, the Egyptian had put up strong interlocking defense that took a heavy toll on Israeli continous and determined counter attacks to dislodge the Egyptian, and win back critical ground.
The IDF was able to overcome the Egyptians resistance by means of good planning, good, daring and intelligent commanders, and well trained and motivated soldiers.
With Singapore already developing a 3G SAF - that is willing to learn from the war experiences of other military - do you think that there will be any repeat to what the Japanese suffered ?
I hope you are not a tankee! If you are, I pray for your buddies. IF I AM A TANKEE, I WILL BLAST YOU FIRST.
go tanks go..
what a load of bullshit;.
moral of the story, got tank no AI = GG!
In all curiousity, how many people who actually reply to this thread is a tankee? I'm a tank commander btw.
In a modern jungle war, to have an assualt by tanks alone will be sucidal. The enemy will most likely be armed with sophisticated anti-tank missiles and rockets. Infantry support will be vital, thus we have Armoured Battle Groups.

AI medic here lol
Alright, I can only say that...it won't happen in SAF.
War is not as simple as you think. Nobody charges in without knowing what's ahead.
And in combined arms warfare, such things don't happen, no unit gets trapped by themselves.
Operationally why...can't say. but we have rehearsed this a million times...war just doesn't happen like that lar....the threadstarter knows nothing and is asking an irrelevant question.

AI MG gunner reporting hahahaha
To Mr Special Ops :
This won't happen?
You trust your scholar officers so much?
You believe the officers would not sacrifice your life for their personal glory?
In Vietnam, US troops sometimes had to "frag" their officers (throw fragmentation grenades to kill them so that the gung-ho officers would not be around to screw up the men).
Had Cpt Gotanda been "fragged" earlier, his men would have lived.....
Gotanda's tanks burning after being hit by Australians....
Aussie gun.....the Aussie commander actually told the gunners to fak off..
