Will Singapore be getting this new armour upgraded Leos instead ? Look menacing
looks like leclercs though.
No, its a Leo2A4 w/ AMAP. I think there was some posts on this already. This was on JDW about a month ago. They started selling this package only in February I think...
oh what a beauty....pretier than my girlfriend
Wouldn't it change the MLC of the L2A4 tt we bought? It will be hard to hide something like that.
1) This new armour upgrade will weight under 60 tons. IOW, no problem
2) This new armour set is like lego. When you want to use it, put it on. When you dont, take it off.
Looks more aggressive then our neighbour's PT-91M.
passive and reactive armor "passé" liao leh
i tot active is the "in" thing now ? :D
Cant wait to see an upgraded SAF Leo2 A4. Hope it comes soon.
Oh cool I didn't know that. IIRC, active protection is just another layer of defence just like passive or reactive, it can get overwhelmed, it may trigger spuriously etc etc. Besides, passive armour is the only one that allows Infantry to work in close support without being shredded by their own side's protection :P
Can someone please sent a note to MINDEF?
You honestly think that Mindef wasn't informed by KWM when they made the purchase?
MINDEF is not infallible ?
To be sure, someone please send a note to MINDEF
Ang Mos are good at "washing hands"
I think the only thing they are adding is the battlefield mgmt system. Doubt they'd be slapping on more armour or firepower.

Nope, but I'm saying that KWM would have informed Mindef of such development going on for the 2A4s to "sweeten" the deal. I sure wasn't talking about Mindef.
But what is the used of having this additional armour when here is not immediate tread to us. It cost more per tank to buy and to run.
OR why not have a clean Leo and we fix our own strong and light weight armour pack
MINDEF is not infallible but it is not stupid either-- this is one of the most expensive items in the Army inventory-- I'm sure they have considered this upgrade. Whether they adopt it or not will ultimately be based on factors, not all of which will be known to the general public.
Wait for NDP 2008. Maybe we will see the 'add-ons'. If not, drop another note to MINDEF to review the capability of the NDP organising chairman. Head must roll!!
