I knew a demo man who had a piece of his ass blown off.

Hi all,
Came acrossed a few more knives over the weekend:
1. Custom maker - Breeden Knives: small scale, narrow orange blade, and 01 steel. Handy for camp works and maybe female gasp.
2. Ontario RC- 3 - Nice blade thickness and micarta scales. Value for money.
3. Ranger series - Nice 'claw' for hammering tasks. Thick blades in epoxy coating. Look damn gilak!
Hi all...just made an internet purchase for an Ontario Randall Adventure Training knife - RAT-3 with D2 steel!!!! Will post some pics up real soon....
Wah shiok...!! Got a Camilius Becker series CMBK10 over the long weekend. For the uninitiated, Camilius is the oldest US knife maker and recently wind down due to bankrupcy. So what happened? All the knives became instant collectors sought after.
I have been eyeing the BK&T series for some time now....wanted to get the 7" version but procrastinated when the price was real cheap (kicking myself silly now). Luciky, still managed to grab one from Sheares Technology!!! Damn I paid a premium for it!
Niwaes, here's the link to the knife!
The metal car body is usually about 2-3 mm thick hot rolled low carbon steel-- famously known for not being bulletproof despite all the hollywood movies. Steel plate inserts are at a minimum 5-6 mm heat treated high carbon steel, while ceramic inserts are harder and will probably resist a knife better. ST is not doubting your words Eddie, it is just that the ability to piece a car body says nothing about the ability to piece bullet resistant inserts.
Now, the Kevlar cloth/ soft armour on the other hand, could probably be pierced by a tanto-- or any other sharp knife, properly applied
Good news...Ethan Becker has joined Ka-Bar!!! Thank gawd the BK&T series are not going down with Camilius! The new blades will be released in Sept....fingers crossed. Now, I wonder if the Camilius version can still commmand the same price...prices have shot up twice now...sigh...
Anybody know where I can obtain a Khukri legally? Are importing them via online sites illegal?or do i need licenses and permits?

You can buy any knives from oversea or here as long as
1] you have a nric
2] it's single-edged -sharpened only on one side
3] it's not mechanically assisted for folders.
Anything else, need to check with the police or you can browse the legislations of singapore.
There are many sizes of khukri. What do you like? Do you like the traditional or modern design? Try Sheares Technology (but i think they dun have stock). There this shop off Lavendar/Arab street (forgot riao) that sells medieval swords - they might have.
Or get it online http://www.nepalesekhukuri.com/user/Index.php
Or jog around Joo Seng road and ask the Khukas there la! MAybe they can sell you cheap cheap. I also want!
I must add that sharpening a Khukri is not easy due to the curvature. For field/survival maintenance, it's not as ideal. 5 cents.
But what price am I expected to pay for them? I'm not looking for the more traditional sort, but rather am looking at those modern type with blackened blade and all.

Oh, if you wanna get those type, guess you have to look online. Check out knifeworks here. I believe they are one of the cheapest around. I always get from this shop and if you go by US Post, they are fast and reliable (at least for me!)
IMO, a Khukri is a one trick pony. And this Kabar Khukri is one huge pony. Definitely NOT ideal for a survival knife if you can only carry one knife.
Why do you need a Khukri? To chop tress? Later authority fine you $500! lol

what knife is this
Looks like a cheap M9 wannabe.

This looks like one of the 80's M9 or M10...i'm not too familiar, especially with the angle of the shots....
It's goes around US$100 so I'm not sure if that's considered cheap or what...
The funky thing is the hollow handle and barb wire cutter...lol
Today's survivalist usually dun favour hollow handle cos it breaks easily - usually 2 metals soildered together or held by a simple bolt and nut system.
But dun worry...a knife is a knife....it's the user not the tool. :)
Cool stuff!
The M9's a bayonet, dude - no hollow handle. The one in the photo's some POS copy. The shape of the blade hints at Aitor, but I can't recall even them making anything that crappy.
