The latest version is derived from Merkava Mk4, while the earlier version is converted from obsolete Mk 1 MBTs.

yup tts rite. hmm i think this project started quite long ago rite? think i saw it on wiki or jane's. anyone have any idea whether the successor to mk4 is under development?
I dont know about you guys. But i'm drooling over their 40/50 ROWS on the namer.
DROOLING.
I wish they put a heavier cannon inside a turret with some mortars and ATGM.
Turret should be so small that it's not crewable too.....
Well at least make the MG operated from inside da APC. Or have Robocop man them. Whichever cheaper

haha, with cannon, turret, and mortars, i believe that wld be what i wld call a merkava.
This one shld be purely for armoured infantry...i think they sacrificed the turret to carry more troops inside. and regarding turrets tt are not crewable, i think its in development, heh heh. but it wld need to have guns tt are quite IA free, fully automated, or else easily accessible by troops in the trooper compartment to reload or rememdy IAs. Sighting system wld have to be done by the troopers though, so we shld see TV screens inside the IFV.
Hmm MGs inside the APC doesnt make it v flexible i think...cant shoot to the side and what not.
Looks good!
60 TON!!

Well the Merkavas had a mortar that could be fired from the crew compartment. No idea whether they kept it for this version though.
Sooner or later, just a matter of time, we will be having it.
Our M113 really sucks.

You dun make sense...
A rogue squirrel once challenged Rey Mysterio to a nut hunt around the park. Before beginning, Rey Mysterio simply dropped his pants, instantly killing the squirrel and 3 small children. Rey Mysterio knows you can't find bigger, better nuts than that.

it doesn't suck....but welll.....i agree, its time for an upgrade. and we will be getting it soon:)

Joce I think the German marder IFV turret is probably non crewable. And it's an old IFV. Well maybe they are crewable but the Marder turret is REALLY small probably only fit one person inside.
No need to put a 120mm gun leh. a 30 mm rapid firing cannon will do. Mortar to fire on enemy infantry concentration even without direct line of sight on which the ammo would explode in mid air delivering sharpnels to the unfortunate enemy infantry.
Furthermore I think the technology is already available to make an IFV turret to be noncrewable. Actually there's already a working American tank prototype in which the turret is non crewable. So I don't see why they can't make the IFV turret non-crewable besides cost concern probably.
ATGM so that the crew would not go into panic when seeing an enemy tank mah

Our M113 is upgraded to the Ultra version and i don't think anyone would describe our Ultras with 'sucks'.
However, our Ultras suffer from thin armour which will not do in the modern battlefield and thus will be eventually be replaced by the BX2 which is superior to the Ultras is almost every aspects except that it will take much longer time to prepare for river-crossing.
I am speaking from AI point of view in terms of spacious.
11 has extra PC & runner.
11A has extra PS & medic.
11B well, we all know it's too small to contain any more troopers.
We all squeeze inside like sardines. Even worse during ICT, most of us have put on weight.
Why our BX2 is rejected by US Army is for the same reason.
Think for a moment.

Hmm but for the US army, is their ORBAT the same as ours? do they have that many people in the same space? correct me if i'm wrong. btw M113s were built in US, so.......
i think the panther above is supposed to take much more. does anyone noe the seating capacity? my guess is 16
According to Lionnoisy's report, is max of 12 soldiers.
But but according to the photo, i see only 8 seats for troopers, 2 in front are for Driver & VC.

My ideal Zoo dream has 2 equations:
2 Leopards + 3 Panthers = 1 ACT
9 ACT: 3 Apaches
to dream is good
to face reality is better
Like it or not, space is a luxury for armored vehicles. Our SAF likes to pack the whole ocean of sardines into 1 tin and expect the tin to move too
SAF 1st choice to use the M113s is they are dirt cheap and easy to maintain...
BX1 is rejected by the US army not BX2
Anyway i am not sure if u have seen the Bionix ICV for the US army anot...
why it is so squeezy is due to the turret cage inside the vehicle (either 40/50, ows or 2MT)
Namer with RCWS has the advantage because it free up space in the troop compartment, same like the terrex.
LT lee will write email to defence minister on this issue.
It looks really big for an APC.
