Spike missile successfully completes test firing
The Spike missile - claimed to be the world's smallest guided weapon - has accomplished its latest firing at the US Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) at China Lake, California. The test, conducted on 12 February 2008, simulated a launch from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Originally conceived and developed by the NAWCWD at China Lake to fill a niche for a low-cost lightweight guided weapon for United States ground forces, Spike is 635 mm (25 inches) long, 57 mm (2.25 inches) in diameter missile and weighs 2.4 kg

wow. but probably not i think...skyblade4 looks fragile...a bit too small. things like the rocket heat might affect it.
UAVs have been firing missiles for quite some time, it is nothing new, nor special.

Especially in A-stan & Iraq...
can but need to redesigned skyblade frame...it was not designed to withstand missile backblast.
If thats the case we may want to consider buying the latest version of the combat proven Predator UCAV.
What ever happen to the rumour that we are interested in the Global Hawk?
From wat i know we r still interested
Anyway 2 6-rds rocket pods + laszer des should be better
No need spike. KAMIKAZE SKYBLADE!!!
Its that a question for the ultra noobs? noisylion you have been around for quite a while why are the nature of your qns never seems to change. As what chinese idoms called it Ming Zhi Gu Wen. Anyway should there be a need i believe DSTA/ST will be able to develop a missile armed UAV in no time.
there are currently PhDs offered by DSO working on UAVs
But imagine if a small error causes a crash, there goes 10k sgd
hey remember!! money is our asset. Just sell of shares in a foreign company we can develop plenty of cool stuff

lol!
You see, the fact that he thinks that having UAV being able to fire missiles is a really SPECIAL feature speaks volumes of his ability to understand the articles he quotes beyond copying and pasting them.
The fact that he wants to crash Fantail into things speaks even more.
There's a REASON WHY we bought so many LGBs, so many planes to carry those things and pay the stick jerkeys so much money to fly them.
Maybe if he stopped focusing so hard on trying to find articles on Australia he might actually learn something about how wars are fought.
I doubt they will release such information; that they built a killer uav(not referring to the skyblade) so soon. But yes, i do not doubt St has the capability to do it.
It was reported that the Hermes 450 can be armed with Hellfire missiles and they were used in this fashion during the last Israeli-Hezbollah conflict for tactical strikes.
It seems that the whole UCAV package is darn expensive at this point of time. Britain just bought 10 predators for a cost 1 USD billion recently with associated c2 systems.
