Yea true. he was suppose to die that way.
no doubt about merkava...but like someone have said no tank are invinsible...
Merkava Mk 1 in BekKa Valley
Well, one tank for 3-5 ATGM crew's might be a good exchange to me considering that ATGM crews are suppose to get a good first hit kill chance on a tank.
You might have 10 ATGM crew, but there will surely be more than 2 tanks and even more other armour to carry on. I always suspected Israelis to make their armour so "tanky" because they want to not only keep the crew alive and combat ready but also force their enemies to expend as many of their AT weapons on each vehicle as possible.
Unlike most computer games, ammo IS limited on the battlefield.
That said, nothing is invincible to attacks. No tank is invincible it's just a matter of how long it takes to kill one before it kills you.
Not to mention tanks can do things that infantry cannot, such as mail HE into troublesome spots repeatedly.
It's about combined arms, infantry working alongside tanks man, not some this-vs-that thing.
but like someone have said no tank are invinsible...
yar. they are not. Can see one.
Merkava Mk.4 for safety.

OK OK so i get a 'c' or 'b' for my engrish?
Actually I thought it was a rather creative word. Combining Invisible and Invincible = Invinsible.
Can't see me, can't kill me.
OK OK so i get a 'c' or 'b' for my engrish?
C for engerlish. And FAIL for realism.

Yea but a tanker would most likely to die faster because he rides into battle

Really where you got that? I thought one shot at the side would render the tank inoperative that is until the Israelis tow it back and repair it.
One ATGM for one Merkava.

One ATGM for one Merkava.
Mobility kills...
mobility kill is a kill...but tank krew were the most important aset...if the cre survived, they can fight next time...

Huh, you're not making much sense too... modern infantry often ride into battle too and those transports can be taken out as well.
Also, there are a lot more things that can hurt a grunt then a tank.
Furthermore, disabling a tank, especially in western designs, does not mean killing the crew, given there are a lot of safety features to aid in crew survival.
And lastly, the numbers from recent wars certianly don't tally. Being an infantryman is the most dangerous job in the battlespace. While ATGM hitting tanks make for good news footage... a lot of the killing of the foot sloggers that made up the main picture went unnoticed, and is actually the shape of things, not the propangada "oh we hit this tank!".
From Swiss' point of view:
