like that show a video of local rape porno with 'aggressor' wearing enemy uniform...Originally posted by Timmay:I believe that the best way to instill aggression in an SAF soldier would be to show a video one of our local girls raped by the enemy
Disgusting, but I'd be enough
yeah... right.... and malaysian soldier can blowpipe an F-16 at 50,000 feet...Originally posted by BeEtHoVeN:well, for cdos, they have to go for selection and interview, so they have to be selected first. there is prestige to be in cdos, whether u are there by choice or by force
for normal units, most of the time, they are there due to no choice and often unwilling to be there too.

I will rather prefer quiet soldiers who can shoot well than aggressive soldiers who can't shoot for nuts.
Aggression, imho, is just a facade to others who are looking.
Seen other countries' soldiers before, deep down they are all still soldiers, aggressive behaviour is only shown when their higher management is around, they tend to slack around when there is no camera or high ranking officers nearby
It occurred to me that whether it is a conscript army or professional army, there is no difference if you look beyond the stern facade on display.
If you are a nsman, then you should know by now, despite bulging tummies and LBVs loaded with every kind of snacks, taking off helmets and smoking during movement to contact, when it comes to the main crux(clearing enemies trenches on a hill), i dare say they do it much better and faster than nsfs
That was their 6th ICT if i remember correctly
why you so stupid go and fight for the FT? i just fight for my family.... of course.. its your choice... so.. dont complain lah....Originally posted by maggot:Fighting for FTs has lower a lot of our soldiers moral
when their father monther wife sons and daughter ends up within the range of their enemy artillery and rockets.... motivation and aggreesion is not a problem... problem is when will upstair push button....Originally posted by aikchongtan:Soldiers are trained to fight. Fighting require aggression. So how to instill the aggressive spirit? In SAF, I do not see much structured attempts to instill this vital spirit in the average conscript soldier, besides the few bayonent fighting sessions in BMT and unarmed combat sessions.
Have we gone overboard with TSR? I believe no CO, commanders or PTI would like to answer to a BOI for fatalities suffered during training. I do not want that on my conscience as well. But I don't like the negative views given by my friends who have MR that current NSF in SAF are getting softer with each day eg., conducting officers and specialists falling over each other to rest any soldier that felt discomfort during, say, a 5KM run. I know there have been some cases of fatal collapse in SAF but how else to maintain the fitness level that underpin aggression if you don't push the endurance of the soldier. Maybe, DSO should developed a personal bio-sign monitor for each soldiers. Monitor the vital bios of soldiers when they undertake strenuous tasks/exercises. Take out the guesswork, ye?
Anyway, I digressed. In most armies, unarmed combat are used to instill fighting spirit in soldiers. Seems to make sense for me. What do you think?

Simply put, take away what is most precious and they will fight! Man fight for freedom and will always be! Of course, the fight or die is another way! If you make conscripts feel this way even just for a short moment, I assure that you can surely instill aggressive spirits from them !!!Originally posted by aikchongtan:Soldiers are trained to fight. Please define "pscychopath" for us". Thanks.Originally posted by nehpyh:Aggression for what??
Imagine that 'enemy' has raped, killed, slaughtered your family?
NS is to prepare you for the worst case scenario, now how to be a psychopath. For example, deadly moves in Karate requires technique and mental training...but they do NOT promote aggression.
It has nothing to do with being 'soft'.
What makes you think that a person who do not question orders is necessarily stupid/unthinking?Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:Nah I disagree...
Well, a meathead may not know when to shut up and fire or when to relieve incompetent superiors of command if the latters' orders are in direct opposition of higher command intent.Originally posted by chino65:What makes you think that a person who do not question orders is necessarily stupid/unthinking?
What makes you think every order has to be questioned?
