My god, the Iowa class Battleships! They don't built ships of those caliber anymore do they? Now its all carriers and their missile escorts.
There is something about those 16in guns that just appeals to me, big, loud and destructive!
I wonder though how those thick armour plates on the Iowa class stand up to modern anti-ship missiles. -

Whats interesting to me is will they bring back the Battleships again when those fancy Advance Gun systems are finally ready for use? -
Dun tink they will reintroduce BB into service. Its expensive and manpower heavy. Though I too would like to see it back in service

Depends on where in the ship you are talking about. When the Iowa class was refurbished back in the 1980s, they specifically increased deck armour because it was too thin to defend against ASM.Originally posted by beavan:i think they can stand up.
