question for those armour "experts" on the forum.....
Which other country/army also uses "natural" vegetation as a cover/concealment for thier armoured vehicles like the Singapore Army...
I agree that it break up the profile and make it harder to see... and maybe the 'type' of vehicle is also harder to ID in a distance...
but doesn't the camo also obstruct the visibility of other Veh Comd or the periscopes etc?

I guess you have to be smart about it and not cover those areas. The objective is still to break up the silhouette but that doesn't mean you have to cover the entire tank in vegetation.
The veh commanders in my old unit usually had camo on their tanks but not to the point where it would affect their visibility. -
the german army, indonesia, malaysia...as far as i knew use vegetation on their vehicles

Countries that use armour in closed-terrain uses that.
Obviously middle-eastern or americans won't use it...because they are in open terrain....primarily desert and plains.
The bionix is quite costly and won't appeal to poor countries.
It is also abit cramped on the inside, because it has been designed for specific SAF needs, so it won't appeal to caucasians because there are roomier competitors.
So these are the reasons why its harder to market the BX, because its a custom-made vehicle for SAF.
Other than that...the BX is really great, Firepower, reliability, protection, the ride comfort....everything is amazing. I love it. -
The BX had a stretched version that finished second in the bidding process for the US Army's Brigade Combat Team tender..which went to GD for the Stryker.
Our Ultimax SAW came in second to the FN M249 Minimi in their SAW selection in 1986. -

however... after the US had selected the minimi.....then the ultimax was put on the market...
the US requested for a batch for testing... they were so amazed by the ultimax... some commanders actually recommended ditching the minimi and go for the ultimax instead... obviously the proposal was rejected.
however.. that didnt stop the US to request "additional batches" of ultimax for "further testing"
