IAF interested in new US-made jet

Fearing the possibility that airfields will be bombed and destroyed during a war, the Israel Air Force has expressed interest in purchasing a squadron of Joint Strike Fighters (JSF) with vertical take-off and landing capabilities.
In September, the IDF announced its plans to purchase at least 25 F-35 jets, with the option to purchase up to dozens more.
Delivery was initially scheduled for 2014, but The Jerusalem Post revealed in October that the Pentagon had in principle agreed to work to move up delivery of the fifth-generation and stealth-enabled aircraft to Israel by as early as 2012

But seriously, that might be a great tech. to have -- given that radio jamming devices that target cell phones and other similar comms devices are out there.. the over reliance on GPS tech might be any archilles heel to exploit -- which is why I guess you still need the man on the ground to pin point targets for precision bombing... but MLRS -- prob. not. -

GPS recievers work by calculating the time taken for signal to bounce to the satellite and back. Once you know the time, you know the distance the satellite is from the surface of the earth. Triangulate with 2 more satellites the distance, and you'll have a very good idea where you are on the planet.
So if you wanna jam GPS, you jam the signal. -
wow, screw the entire world's navigation systems just because of a war..
