Mitchell did prove that Air Power can be used in an offensive role.
But only at the Battle of Taranto/ Malaya/ Strike of Pearl Harbour did the Admirals wake up to reality.

Singapore can have all sorts of nice weapons and plans etc, but do we have the will to fight back even if everything look bleak?
Choose to be optimistic, half the battle is won.

What if the nature of foreign attack are very unconventional in nature i.e politically.
Foreign elements/ Singaporeans with foreign backing usurps into PAP and rise
to ministerial level or worse, becoming PM. Could we detect this kind of threat?
Extremists using religion,economic grievances etc. and motivates certain ethnic group to rise against the government or clash with other ethnic race. Can we be sure that certain ethnic group will stay loyal to Singapore? -

1) Take down communications
2) Make amphibious assault on Pulau Tekong and from the North-East at several different points.
3) Heavy bombing of West SG
Taking down PT will serve a psychological defeat to Singapore. Attack the NE and making advances inland will be met with fierce resistance but should attempt to claim as much land as possible within a day and establish a secured beachhead to ensure supplies are available

With the current increase in population, I won't be surprised if our reliance on food imports is 95%. -
kk. Singapore has lots of oil coming from our money... and it is likely big countries may retaliate if sg gets attacked... but once the mining is complete, how much can you do except to fight?
any country that dare to do so (mine) should be well prepared against the consequences, no?

No way. Breaking the fibre optic cable will break other countries communications as well.
Remember the Taiwan earthquake when it damage the cables?
A lot of Asia countries will protest. Besides, if enemies are so dumb, they will break their communications as well. Hop halfway through, data can't pass through.

Well, I read amused at some silly ideas.
I'll challenge you guys to think instead...
1. Try becoming invisible to the 24/7 flying E-2C with about 400km detection range, and the FPS-117 with 300+ km range...and many other radars..
2. Try flying through the layers of i-Hawk, Mistral, Rapier, RBS-70 and escape being shot down by 60+ F-16C/D Block 52, and 40+ F-5S/T.
3. Try landing para-troopers anywhere in Singapore and face a few hundred active Commandos, SOF...and even Police STAR team and Gurkhas.
4. Try doing a "secret" sea landing without being detected by Navy and Police Coast Guard.
5. Try overcoming a few thousand armoured vehicles, M113 with 25mm, 40/50, Bionix, AMX-10P, AMX-13...SPIKE, MILAN, MATADOR and the good old LAW tube.
6. Try bombarding Singapore with artillery and not be pinpointed by TPQ-36/37, Arthur radars and be bombarded back by 200+ 155mm and many hundreds of 120mm.
7. Start thinking if anyone near us, has more artillery, fighter planes, special forces, reserve troops....
8. Try concentrating or move large number of troops without being detected by sensors, radars, satellite and other intelligence elements.
9. Try mobilising troops and equipping them faster than the SAF.

Its not as easy to defeat Singapore as u think....if not those unfriendly and jealous countries would have already over-run us.

well the main reason why singapore has taken a diplomatic stance in international relations is simply because we can never ever handle a war.
even if we, miraculously, win it ( in the sense that we successfully defend our lands from invaders), in the long run we lose out due to our limited land capacity and obvious lack of funds to rebuilt (assuming limited foreign aid).
hypothetically, if a war should ever occur, our best bet would be to rely on our diplomatic relations to rally support from other cts ( eg asean, un peharps).
ironically, as much as we try to rely on ourselves all these years after the japanese occupation, we're still very much dependent on others now. -

- Cut/reduce water supply to SG under pretext of drought/global warming.
- Plead with international community, at the same time inciting SG to war.
- When SG launches pre-emptive strike, whine at the UN about casualties and press for sanctions.
- At the same time, sow discord between SGeans, foreigners, and government via agents.
- Sit back and watch.
