Most manufacturers tend to overestimate the water resistance. However, if you've just got an Open Water Diver licence, it should be more than enough for your purposes - just be sure to get the gaskets changed every 3-5 years.Originally posted by Seth35:Its says it can withstand up to 20 Bar
Hoping to use it for my Diving trips...And hope it lasts long

Nuh uh - you could go up to maybe 7 years if you take good care of it, but forget 25. My SeaDweller's good for 122 Bar, but after 5 years there's no way I'm taking it diving without a service.Originally posted by Seth35:No...Already in Advanced...The gaskets are supposed to last 25 years... isnt it ?
Well, I haven't dived in a good long while - somewhere between 10 and 12 metres, I think. Been meaning to head down to the Great Barrier Reef, but I never seem to get round to it.Originally posted by Seth35:How deep You usually go ?
I'm in Melbourne, so the GBR's not too far for me. IIRC, you need at least an Advanced licence for wreck diving, don't you? I've only got the basic Open Water licence.Originally posted by Seth35:Great barrier reef....Quite and expensive place to go dive in....
Btws...have you been to Bikini atolls...Where all the ww2 Wreck dive sites are at ?

Yeah, I was CDO, but diving wasn't part of the job - I got a civilian licence from SSI.Originally posted by Seth35:Yea advanced...But i think theres a certain course for you on safety specs on Wreck....
You Commando right ? I thought you should have done your BDC at Sembawang...NDU ?
Yeah, I was CDO, but diving wasn't part of the job - I got a civilian licence from SSI.Oh ok...Same....Was from SSI Certified 1999 but changed to padi 2007...

I got together with some of my fellow collectors recently - here's a shot of $175,000 of watches on one table:
