Apache can drop iron bombs?

Can Apache helicopters drop dumb bombs? The IAF's Mi-35 have this ability and i find it quite interesting as it is not a commonly advertised capability.

How do they do it? Armed the bombs by hand and then roll it out the door?
Have to say it is a hell lot cheaper than firing rockets. -

cant remember which country got 1 country using modded UH-1H as heli-bomber.....

Also IIRC, Egyptian Mi-8 helos dropped napalm bombs in the 1973 war.

Talking about iglas, one thing i dont understand about it is why our M113s iglas only have gpmg to accompany them.
I wish they can mate a pair of 50 cals or 40mm AGL with air burst ammunition in the rear compartment then it's able to have more effective anti air and even anti infantry ability. -
I agree with your point. Since it is for countering low level aircraft(most likely helicopters), Iglas will do well. As to why GPMG is chosen is because as its name implies its general purpose. It can be used against low flying aerial targets and against ground troops for self defence.

You should be carrying more missiles with the space available. GPMG ammo takes up less space than .5 or 40mm grenades.
But these things changes can easily change as the situation demands. IDF AFV's all carry about 2 - 3 GPMGs/HMG not counting the main armament into battle. -

The Spanish armyÂ’s future fleet of 24 Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopters are to be equipped with Rafael Spike-ER air-to-surface missiles, following the signature of a $60 million contract between the Israeli manufacturer and local partner General Dynamics Santa Barbara.
Madrid had also evaluated the Lockheed Martin AGM-114 Hellfire and MBDA Trigat LR weapons for its Tigers, but the Rafael design emerged as a clear favourite earlier this year, after the army selected its Spike-LR system to meet a $425 million land forces requirement for 2,600 anti-tank missiles.
With a maximum range of 8km (4.3nm), the electro-optically-guided Spike-ER (one missile shown above on Tiger's starboard weapons pylon) can be launched in three modes: fire and forget; fire, observe and update, using a fibre-optic datalink; and fire and steer, where the 33kg (73lb) missile is launched without first having locked onto a target.

Possibly space constraints because the M113 is a small vehicle and because they probably will not encounter ground troups directly. But why the Igla? Dun think so, for 1 fact e Mi-35/24 & KA-50/52 can carry bomb cos they r very fast, dropping bomb require u 2 fly over e target.

Still, bombs have very limited use on attack helicopters. AHs are meant to kill vehicles, tanks, etc over great ranges. -

Dropping iron bombs from helicopters is a very low tech way of having PGM. Fly to the GPS coordinates, minimum height, and release.
What coordinates to fly to? Do homework first.
No export restrictions. -
If I wanted to drop bombs. I'd fly an F-16 to drop a JDAM. Not a chopper.

after all, buying a plane spells more of military buildup then a helicopter...
the neighbors have less to complain if we bought choppers... -
I don't think it makes sense to drop bombs from apache.
it means u have to fly overhead....even if you use CCRP or Dive Toss....u'll still expose urself to unnecessary danger and small arms fire.
Apache is most effectively used with rockets, Hellfire and secondary weapon being the 30mm..all ranged weapons...to stay clear of danger.
