SAF Combat Bulldozers for FIBUA?

This is a clip of French soldiers(they are wearing red berets so i presumed are special forces) entering a building with a wheeled bulldozer.
They have the shovel for protection against small arms fire by riding inside.
Its very rapid form of entry into low level buildings and bypassing the potentially booby-trapped and heavily defended doorway on the ground floor.
No ladders! Less equipment to lug around.
The bulldozers can also clear roadblocks and push down walls on unsuspecting soldiers hiding behind that wall.
The IAF frequently use bulldozers in their army operations in built-up areas.

We do what the Israelis do. Blast a hole in the war. Reverse a BX to the hole, and have the infantry dismount directly into it.

they got armor the driver seat??
it looks dumb to me... the troops are sitting ducks crouching in the bucket...
they didn't even fully tilt the bucket back to provide more cover... -
That I don't know! Never saw the shots of the driver seat. I assume there's some kinda protection for the crew for specialised FIBUA vehicles.
There's also one where the soldier is elevated to windows via a lift device. Like those that u see cutting tall branches off trees. We're already pretty innovative when it comes to FIBUA.
I had this idea of a very long rod with a grenade & flashbang at the end of it, together with a camera. Stick this into a room, check if it has CVlians, if not, BOOM. CVlians, then boom the flashbang instead. -
There is a picture of the bulldozer in the Mindef website. Looks very much like the one in the clip. But theres no specifiations on it.

doesn't seem to have any armor... i dun think we will be following the french anytime soon...

Useful for sticking through windows, and avoid stapled-curtain situations. =D -

This is what the CEV is for.
The big stubby cannon is for blasting concrete.
And it also has a dozer blade.
If you use BX, you will have to wait a bit before the 25mm gun can blast a big enough hole in a reinforced concrete wall. And reversing the BX into the hole sounds suicidal... If I throw a grenade into the room you just reversed into everyone, including the vehicle crew, will be casualty. -

Why ! The damn thing is just too noisy ! before it approach everyone already hear it . Also notice it is a little clumsy as it try to turn here and there, the poor soldiers is hanging on for dear life . With bullets raining down, i think the chance of the dozer crashing into somewhere else is too high.
I think the better option is two landrovers - 1st one with ladder to go right to the window - the one behind it provide covering fire, to protect the troops that is going up the ladder. -
But these versions are not the same to the one shown in the clip which have wheels not tracks and can turn tight corners fast. This IDF Caterpillar D9R is mainly used to push down buildings and not really for shovelling as seen from the difference in the blade design as compared to the SAF version in the Mindef website. -

HEAT for anti-tank and HASH for anti-brick wall.

SCE has the Combat Engineer Tractor which is armoured but I doubt they'll be using it like you described.

In urban warfare as in FIBUA, Combat bulldozers will be a good choice. They clear obstacles and path fast for AI and Inf. They are armored, They are cheap and reliable. SAF doctrine for Urban Warfare should evolve in having specialized combat bulldozers as in IAF than only in SCE.

For frontline works, SG combat engineer has the CET (Combat Engineer Tractor) to do the job; and a bit of side note, it's the only "air-conditioned" armour vehicle in our inventory.
For rear end works, can deploy any contruction equipments at their disposable.
The status of M728CEV and AVLB will most probably be scrapped when the Leo 2A4 is fully deployed. The existing set of MCM accessories can be adapt for the new leo 2. A version of leguan bridge will also be deploy for the leo 2. -

And please explain why the M-60 based CEV or AVLB will be phased out? Are they not working? Why adapt the "MCM accessories" to the Leo 2? -
I suspect its for parts commonality and ease of logistics, but I could be wrong.
