  Any military application to this form of technology?
  
  I think with this we can drop off our SOF and/or CDOs further away from the objective and let them glide in.
  
  This way can minimise detection of the transport plane and also allow the paratroopers to 'hide' along natural barriers such as mountains during the glide to the objective.
