the roles of commandos and guards? and all the different erm, vocations of saf.

You can discuss about them to some extent....whatever that the govt would allow u to discuss in public.
Guards - Infantry soldiers who are trained for rapid deployment/reaction, and for surprise insertion. They are heliborne, and also can be deployed by Light-Strike vehicles.
Commandos - Special missions, such as counter-terrorism, airborne insertion deep into enemy terrain to conduct "special missions". That's all we are allowed to say in public.

oh cuz my friend told me that guards and commandos do the same thing. i thought that commandos they're like rambo, they go into enemy base and do lightning strikes.
but my friend say guards do the same thing -

Commando and guards are very different roles....their training also very different.
Guards aren't airborne, except for officers and WOs who're sent for airborne course for the sake of it.
Commandos penetrate DEEP. Guards don't...their role is to be dropped in at important places...
Commandos can insert by air/land/sea....guards too, but not designed for deep penetration.
Commandos trained for "special missions", guards aren't trained for that. -

I think there's this misconception that the Commandos can't do what the Guards can. The Guards simply enjoy more support in what they do.
