Let's say if singapore is fighting a war and suffered heavy casualties and manpower is very low. Will the saf recruit those ncc kids or teenagers and give them weapons to go to the frontlines?
I know our war will be quick but what if somehow the situation is a prolonged conflict? -

i went in when i was 17 too and i had someone in my unit who was 16, can enter service earlier through parental consent with the VEES (voluntary early enlistment) form.

its impossible that NCC pple will ever recalled.
First of all, we're not so desperate, we have more than enuff fighting troops that we can ROD them earlier than before.
Secondly, they're simply not trained for battle and impossible to use. You're underestimating what fighting troops train for....its impossible to use untrained people.
Thirdly, its ethically wrong to use kids.
THis is quite a stupid question to even think of. -
The NCC are trained. We'r seriously not just a bunch of kids running around in green.

Yep its true...I was in there b4 got to CLT...

Yes although we train on arms and Individual Field Craft...And some other stuff
I dont think we'll be equipped to mobilise unless the nation is in dire straits...
Or super short of manpower.
NCC is like a Preview of Army...Or give you an idea or Try try...Or somewhat train you to lead and get use to it...so you'll know what to expect...Its not that realistic...Army is the real thing in which you get to do stuff a Proffesional Army is...
In short its just like a Preview of Army
Unless you've done airborne course....You can wear it even in army...I heard cause its certified Under them... -

Ok...this is turning into another slam the NCC thread.Mod please close. Ps. the purpose of NCC is not to fight war...but to train disciplined and motivated youths. So guys in NCC, please do not disgrace/embarrass yourself by comparing yourself to be on par with the SAF if you honour the NCC. Ps. this is frm a CLT. that knows the difference. No matter how much you think you know, there are many others that know more than you. A warrior has to learn to be humble and swallow his/her pride to make clear informed judgements.

Which intake doesn't matter...what matters is that the Corp is not slammed for no reason or provocation. Pardon the juniors whom are young and ignorant for thinking that being in NCC is like they are some SF of all the uniform groups, but really I was like that, but I grew out of it. The purpose of each organisation is different. Thus, whats the point for NSFs, Regulars etc.etc. to slam NCC? The Espirit De Corp is definitely showing, but pardon the young ones for being over-zealous as when one is overly passionate about something,it gets in their heads. In the Singapore Mutiny of 1915, boy scouts were called up to help while the army was at the front fighting rebels..............even the Sultan of Johor sent his private army to help.......

i don't think it's feasible at all. NCC kids aren't trained soldiers.
