How did the rest of us came to misundertand this?Originally posted by Heliakaon:Given my current vocation... I'm only armed with a crappy weapon and 2 magazines... Regarding the five power defence arrangement ,i think it is as uneffective as un. No one would be willing to send their soldiers to die for other country..........dude they sent soldiers to east timor...that must count something?
Soldiers are unlikely die for peacekeeping missions.Originally posted by tankfanatic:dude they sent soldiers to east timor...that must count something?
well..malaysians did b4 in somaliaOriginally posted by crusader91:Soldiers are unlikely die for peacekeeping missions.
That is only 1 for them, 100 is considered heavy casualties.Originally posted by Rockhound:well..malaysians did b4 in somalia
The risk of dying is very real. Just that the percentage is much lower than in an outright war.Originally posted by crusader91:Soldiers are unlikely die for peacekeeping missions.
Yes, the MAF soldiers are generally older than ours but they are certainly no less fitter and certainly more experienced in combat especially jungle warfare.Originally posted by Rockhound:never look down on your neighbours....their soldiers are very experienced...compared to ours...our inexperience is only offsetted by technology and a rushing/compact training "syllabus" during ns...
Holiday camp? You won't even get these in peace time.Brible their officials if you can afford to..........Originally posted by Cro-Magnon:Q: What if you are a POW?
A: You are to disclose only your Rank, Name and IC number. If your captors are nice people, perhaps you may demand for an air-conditioned private room with attached toilet and shower, comfortable bed, computer with internet access, etc, and 2 Privates who are to see to your needs... until time for you to step back into friendly soil...
low casualties in somalia because they kill so many somalis that day. After the incident when ever they pissed off a malaysian soldier (for example the K4 highway incident where they shot a bunch of malay spec ops 2 KIA..because the malaysian flag looks like the american flag) the entire clan took of running for refuge for fearing the 7th rangers. They actually believe that the malaysian 7th rangers were a bunch of Iban who decapitated their enemy head and shrink them for souvernier...true story.Originally posted by crusader91:That is only 1 for them, 100 is considered heavy casualties.
Most of our guys will probably be scared and surrender if this was true. But represent them as barbaric uncivilised soldiers..Originally posted by tankfanatic:low casualties in somalia because they kill so many somalis that day. Note they can always send in their sharpshooters with their infantry squads just like the eastern blocs tend to do. Then you have to try snipe their sharpshooters who is mixed into the squads.Originally posted by Heliakaon:Yes... bring in a trench when in a fixed defensive position is a gd idea but not when u have limited firepower and ammo and not to mention manpower... For me I would rather hide among the foilage a distance away and pick the enemies from a distance... something like how a sniper fight
We are civilized due to our education, men by default is still animal and we have our animalistic instincts in us, much like the "flight or fight" mentality and also the "herd/pack" instinct. Our guys won't surrender that quickly, but they would probably split up into small groups and go into what we call "divide and conquer"Originally posted by crusader91:Most of our guys will probably be scared and surrender if this was true. But represent them as barbaric uncivilised soldiers..

thats the point...Iban dont decapitated their enemy head..these day, they as modern as us. The whole story about iban shrinking decapitated head were just rumours.....yet the skinnies believe it. Of course the only part that were true is the massacre the 19th RAMD inflicted to the somalis (even to civillian)Originally posted by crusader91:Most of our guys will probably be scared and surrender if this was true. But represent them as barbaric uncivilised soldiers..
