i suggest u read my first post in this thread and try figure out why i wrote such poo.Nah. Ferryman is the same twat who had zero idea about joint forces.
a marine platform ...you have to solve the back blast first, and the platform itself must be big enoughWhy? You can launch an equivalent sized missile from a patrol boat. The
Actually, US MLRS or HIMARS system are considered pretty small in number as compare to say Astros II or Smerch becos the US system could operate automously w/o the need of additional C&C/FCS vehicles.Originally posted by Shotgun:wait, so its 28 vehicles in all???? Thats quite a bit.
I have tested it and reply to you with a soln in a PM here.Originally posted by Arthas79:@ Gary
Sorry Gary, Im still having problems with my password. Wierd. Thanks for the help previously though.
Yes, Israeli EXTRA and LORA are both tested for sea-launched as well as ground-based.Originally posted by iwannaknow:is it like possible to mount the HIMARS system on a navy fast craft and then launch the missiles from there ?
But for an untested- new equipment and first buy for Singapore... Its quite a bit ain't it?Originally posted by gary1910:Actually, US MLRS or HIMARS system are considered pretty small in number as compare to say Astros II or Smerch becos the US system could operate automously w/o the need of additional C&C/FCS vehicles.
They incorperated with all neccessary FCS, GPS, comm set etc in one compact and sleek launcher plus the fact it is currently the only operational GPS guided rocket system , that is why they are most expensive currently.
Not really, the nickname "Steel Rain" was in fact given by the Iraqi during GW1.Originally posted by Shotgun:But for an untested- new equipment and first buy for Singapore... Its quite a bit ain't it?
It's not too impossible given that we've developed so much of our own arms that are not battle-tested too.Originally posted by Shotgun:But for an untested- new equipment and first buy for Singapore... Its quite a bit ain't it?
u mean to tell us there are tube artillery with a far longer reach than the vanilla XM31?Originally posted by gary1910:Not sure abt XM31 though, but it is simply too short range for sea-launched when you considered the adversary LR coastal arty.
At least 150km range should be better, ATACM, EXTRA and LORA all fit the bill.
so the unguided rocket did have some reputation afterallOriginally posted by gary1910:Not really, the nickname "Steel Rain" was in fact given by the Iraqi during GW1.

a full page of healthy rantings without any cheap "mine is bigger than yours", "mine is longer than yours" or even "mine can spurt faster than yours" justifications to arguments.
keep it up and i'll keep by the sidelines. LOL.
US MLRS M26 at the time max range was only 32km, for unguided rocket , the longer range, the wider the dispersion.Originally posted by tankfanatic:so the unguided rocket did have some reputation afterall
Your A II SS-80 already has longer range than XM31, and it has been touted as a coastal defenec arty by the Brazilian, 2ndly , there is new development for longer and more accurate guided munitions for 155mm arty.Originally posted by ferryman2393:u mean to tell us there are tube artillery with a far longer reach than the vanilla XM31?

You have shown your true colour, you admitted that you become a troll whenever we laugh at the "small dick" of MAF!!!
But there are 2 problems:
1) MAF indeed has a small dick as compare to SAF, that's a fact , we can't change the fact!!!
2) This is human nature, you are expected once awhile to see someone laugh at small dick!! Btw I could not help myself , I enjoy laughing at the one up north!!!!
You are suffering from inferior complex plus you are a troll, all I posted abt you has been proven by this posting of your, now everyone here know what low life you are!!!!
I could understand the frustration by our northern neighbour, as their armed forces' asset have alway been more or less way behind us in term of qty as well qualitynow, how vain can that be. claiming to understand something which is not even proven. do u seriously think the MAF's concerns centered around what the SAF is capable of? alooo.... friend, wake up. we are not overly concern with how big the SAF dicks are. u can caress ur dick all night long for all i care. its your dick after all, like i said earlier.
now u seem to have some respect for the ASTROSS. u claimed somewhere that above 40km, unguided rocket system like ASTROSS is what? tactically useless? u also made a calculation that at 89 kilometre, a rocket of 1% CEP be off target more than 3 km? and if the ASTROSS rumor is correct, its rocket have the potential of being what? 10 km off target? correct me if i'm wrong. LOL....man...Originally posted by gary1910:Your A II SS-80 already has longer range than XM31, and it has been touted as a coastal defenec arty by the Brazilian, 2ndly , there is new development for longer and more accurate guided munitions for 155mm arty.
Lastly, for Naval Surface Fire Support (NSFS) role, it is unlike the land based system, for land based system , we are only risking the launchers and it's crew.
Whereas for NSFS , we are not just risking the above but the whole ship and it's crew as well!!!
That's why it is good that for NSFS system to have good standoff distance against enemy coastal arty.
Now....now......why would us SG wanna target our rockets at bintan or for that matter.....batam??Originally posted by ferryman2393:u may see ur rockets exploded in bintan instead of batam...
GPS guided projectiles dun need to pre-target one. We can enter required coordinates anytime.Originally posted by FireAndHell:Now....now......why would us SG wanna target our rockets at bintan or for that matter.....batam??
We're peace loving SG ppl, dun u noe mr.ferry-a-man?? We dun target our rockets at anybody.........heheheh
really? i thought u fellas target ur rockets at batam every weekends.Originally posted by FireAndHell:Now....now......why would us SG wanna target our rockets at bintan or for that matter.....batam??

hehehe, that one is for show only lah, the real ones are usually targetted in the opposite direction.Originally posted by ferryman2393:really? i thought u fellas target ur rockets at batam every weekends.

don't put words into my mouth. everyone here can see that my first post in this thread was brought about by MY wasted on expensive brand new equipment, and singapore just easily counter it with cheap 2nd hand stuff... I am just letting my frustration out.
