hey ferryman,i suggest u read my first post in this thread and try figure out why i wrote such poo.
you seems to be the narrow-minded culprit stirring up sentiments between MYs and SGs here. what a shame on you for your countrymen!

and all these could have been avoided if gary left his (or is it hers? damn...these internet thingy have a way of being anonymous) comments without listing down (as if to justify something - weird if u ask me) all of the NORTHERN neighbor's futile catch up games or their political and domestic peculiarity.
makes u wonder who is really afraid of whom here.
like i said?Originally posted by storywolf:Ferryman is just frustrated with Singapore armed force assets being alway more or above this country in term of qty and quailty as well.
Like he say, they pay huge money and brought a lot of all brand new equipment like 211adnan, PT/91m, Submarine, Su-30 and Astros II thinking that they would catch up and they finally got the chance to boost and talk about it.
But sad fact was the celebration and boosting was cut short as Singapore brought new equipment like F-15s and Himars ....
Think what hurt the most, is that Singapore just brought 2nd hand Leopard 2 and 2 old submarine .... at low cost and 2nd hand which is more then enough to counter their brand new super expensive equipment....
Yep it can be hard to swallow for ferryman - when his tax is wasted on expensive brand new equipment, and singapore just easily counter it with cheap 2nd hand stuff... he just letting his frustration out.
Honestly, I don't wanna guess the point of your FIRST post. All you did was paraphrase what Gary1910 said from an M'sian point of view. Perhaps you'd like to explain for yourself what you meant?Originally posted by ferryman2393:like i said?

man, u need to learn to read between the lines.Originally posted by Shotgun:Honestly, I don't wanna guess the point of your FIRST post. All you did was paraphrase what Gary1910 said from an M'sian point of view. Perhaps you'd like to explain for yourself what you meant?
Lets not play word games and insist that they subtly implied "this and that." This is a discussion forum, lets get our points across directly so that we don't need to second guess each other's intentions. Word games are for the politicians, we are just netizens.
Like you say - what you write is Poo !!!Originally posted by ferryman2393:man, u need to learn to read between the lines.
for those who are also as intrigued, i'll give u fellas a clue. this thread was doing fine until i 'paraphrase' what somebody said from my POV. obviously what he wrote tickled my fancy. so, read what he wrote. he obviously understood what i meant as he tried to justified it later on but as can be expected from him, his reaction to my "read what i wrote" was as usual....himself.
p/s wanna guess what his reaction to this will be? no prizes though...LOL.
Like I said in the other forum:Originally posted by BabyRex:OK back to the topic.
I still don't understand why 18 Launcher system and 9 trucks.
So do the 18 Launcher system include 18 trucks and the 9 trucks are resupply vehicles or the 9 trucks are for 9 of the launchers.
In the second case, what are the remaining 9 launchers for? To be retrofitted on our own Broncos?
Or maybe fit it on our remaining 9 Patrol Vessels. Hahaha. Imagine the PV moving up along the the Straits of Malacca or the South China Sea and launching from there, effectively making the entire coastline of the northern neighbour within range.
M142 HIMARS itself describes a system with 1 missile pod mounted on a 5 tons 6x6 truck. The 9 M1084A1 are 5 ton Cargo Truck with MHE( Material Handling Equipment or simply a crane) are I believe they are Resupply Vehicles which should be able to carry one pod of rocket/missile, if it is attached to a trailer, the trailer could carry another pod , i.e. 2 pods for reloading in the field.
So when one talk abt HIMARS, it includes the truck as well.
So in other words, the total count is 27 vehicles in all?Originally posted by gary1910:The 9 M1084A1 are 5 ton Cargo Truck with MHE( Material Handling Equipment or simply a crane) are I believe they are Resupply Vehicles which should be able to carry one pod of rocket/missile, if it is attached to a trailer, the trailer could carry another pod , i.e. 2 pods for reloading in the field.
And I also believe that SAF tends to standardised things especially such a small number, I dun think that 9 on the 6x6 truck and 9 on some other platform.
No, there is one more, M1089A1 Wrecker which is a Recovery Vehicle, I have already posted the detail here:Originally posted by Shotgun:So in other words, the total count is 27 vehicles in all?
So....will we see another batch coming at the end of the not so distant tunnel??Originally posted by Shotgun:wait, so its 28 vehicles in all???? Thats quite a bit.

his idea of a marine platform is quite reasonable. don't brush him off. let's hear some more development of this.Originally posted by tankfanatic:aiya...the topic were starting going to be ok ...and then you wrote this...why would we want to be in range of the nothern neighbour in the first place?
