you seems to be the narrow-minded culprit stirring up sentiments between MYs and SGs here. what a shame on you for your countrymen! -

SAF has been enjoying both qty as well as quality since perhaps the 70s?
Or the apathy attitude of MY govt since independence till perhaps the 80s?
Or the part that Malaysians want to be on par with us militarily with high hope since the latest modernisation programs, but feel frustrated with the special number "18", but at least still able to be on par with SG at least in term of "quality", but with recent purchases of equipment by SG , that notion has been quashed too?
Or the corruption by the Umnoputra's cronies over defence purchases and contracts, getting more expensive purchases, low quality products with long delay??
The reason you did not refute my points becos you know all the above is true, and the truth hurts, but instead of confronting the truth, Malaysians tends to hide them and will attacks others that speak up abt the truth, seen this kind of behaviour again and again, by other Malaysian posters or by UNMO threatening sedition!!!!
Such face saving personal attack rather than confronting the truth is a typical shortsightness of Malaysia, that is why MY still has a lot of shortcoming like cronyism etc.
That is why I said, in the forseeable future, the status quo will remain, becos Malaysia is not confronting all their shortcomings!!!! -
Let's me tell you the difference between Singapore forum amd MY forum, if anyone posted untrue here, it will be attacked , regardless whether who is the one posted it.
In fact, a lot of time I see heated debate in SG forum and elsewhere due to difference in POV becos we Singaporean like the seek the truth and confront any shortcoming we see rather than hide it.
That's why SG could developed so fast and become first world nation, apathy attitude is for loser!!! -
Ferryman is just frustrated with Singapore armed force assets being alway more or above this country in term of qty and quailty as well.
Like he say, they pay huge money and brought a lot of all brand new equipment like 211adnan, PT/91m, Submarine, Su-30 and Astros II thinking that they would catch up and they finally got the chance to boost and talk about it.
But sad fact was the celebration and boosting was cut short as Singapore brought new equipment like F-15s and Himars ....
Think what hurt the most, is that Singapore just brought 2nd hand Leopard 2 and 2 old submarine .... at low cost and 2nd hand which is more then enough to counter their brand new super expensive equipment....
Yep it can be hard to swallow for ferryman - when his tax is wasted on expensive brand new equipment, and singapore just easily counter it with cheap 2nd hand stuff... he just letting his frustration out. -

I don't see anything wrong with Gary1910's post. He may have biased views, but at least he doesn't beat around the bush and gets to the point. Like I said, nobody likes "Reading between the lines" on a discussion forum like this.

I still don't understand why 18 Launcher system and 9 trucks.
So do the 18 Launcher system include 18 trucks and the 9 trucks are resupply vehicles or the 9 trucks are for 9 of the launchers.
In the second case, what are the remaining 9 launchers for? To be retrofitted on our own Broncos?
Or maybe fit it on our remaining 9 Patrol Vessels. Hahaha. Imagine the PV moving up along the the Straits of Malacca or the South China Sea and launching from there, effectively making the entire coastline of the northern neighbour within range. -

M142 HIMARS itself describes a system with 1 missile pod mounted on a 5 tons 6x6 truck.
The 9 M1084A1 are 5 ton Cargo Truck with MHE( Material Handling Equipment or simply a crane) are I believe they are Resupply Vehicles which should be able to carry one pod of rocket/missile, if it is attached to a trailer, the trailer could carry another pod , i.e. 2 pods for reloading in the field.
So when one talk abt HIMARS, it includes the truck as well.
And I also believe that SAF tends to standardised things especially such a small number, I dun think that 9 on the 6x6 truck and 9 on some other platform. -

a marine platform ...you have to solve the back blast first, and the platform itself must be big enough
