Are you sure?? The Thunderbirds performed over East Coast Park in 1986. You've probably recalled wrongly. Unless I missed the Red Arrows performance.Originally posted by Gun:
Recalled Red Arrows last performed in 1996 AA.
Also saw them performed over the Bedok jetty back in 1986/87.
I got only one word on their airman skill: S-U-P-E-R-B!
It is like only yesterday when they had gone so low along the East coast that I can smell their diesel smoke and observed them doing little rolls to avoid the street lamps along the jetty.
Yes, I agreed their maneuvers easily outshine those fly-by-wire Yankees.
Red Arrows meets Black Knights Feb'07
I also remember that Thunderbirds performed back in 1986 at East Coast. The roads leading to that area was so packed as everyone main objective is to view the 30 mins show.Originally posted by huaichien:Are you sure?? I still recall the first time I see acrobatic aerial show was back in 1982 at the SAF display show in West Coast. The acrobatic team (many years later then i know is Black Knights) consists only of Hawker Hunters. I was staying near to the performance site and have many chances to see them during rehersals by just looking out from the window of my flat.Originally posted by duotiga83:finally all F-16 a/c
Thats not true. They do perform together for very special occasions. And during these shows, the Tbirds will often try to "Show" Up the Blue Angels.Originally posted by huaichien:The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels are forbidden from performing within 150 miles of each other without special permission. So you won't see them at the same airshow. Outside of the US of A, you are much more likely to see the Thunderbirds than the Blue Angels. The Blue Angels have performed at only a handful of overseas venues.
