ST's new SMG

  I saw this picture on militaryphoto.com some poster put these pictures up and say that it is a new SMG made by ST technologies. Any chance these weapons are going to enter the SAF inventories? I mean we can arm our technicians, base personnels can be trained to use them. I know that there is carbine already, but those fire full size rifle catridge, hard to control for those that may have some illness or disabilities. I know this looks crude, but it is still at infancy stage...........

  If so,i think it would be used for personal defence weapon or some police units.

  I actually didn't think that SAF would have a requirement for anything that's 9mm. If for SAF likely to be 5.7 FN.

  For police I think they will stick to their HK MP5 and M16. This weapon, like the Uzi, would be probably just for SWAT or police spec Ops - looks to rougish for daily use.

  Do you mean M-16 carbine? Cos the M-14 is one big-a.ss rifle. And the M-16 carbine has a collapsible stock, not folding.

  yar ,m-16 with collapsing butt. mistake mistake.
  
  i meant the M-4. The length of rifle is much lesser than the standard m-16.

  And the ST made weapon according to AA2006...is a so called "CPW" or Compact Personal Weapon essentially a PDW that can be chambered for various calibres but now uses standard 9mm.Fires from a 25round plastic mag, able to go up to 700-900rpm.
