wat makes u think that our weapons are in tip top shape?Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:Every army has faults with their weaponry at times....the unfortunate thing for our army is that ours were faulty in battle! In my opinion, our prime minister should take the blame for any death or injury caused by this as it is his government, under his rulings that decided not to sufficiently fund the ADF with enough money to ensure our troops were armed with working weapons.
Just another mistake made by the Australain government! My hat goes off to the Singapore Government for ensuring that your army is properly equipped.
If only our government would take some lessons from yours, our country might run even half as smoothly as yours does! Atleast your country would be able to protect itself against war/intruders,unlike ours who has to call on America to help us because our prime minister has no idea how to run a country.
My 2 cents given......
Hmm. She's not exactly ill-informed abt the SAF, if you get what I mean.Originally posted by Rockhound:wat makes u think that our weapons are in tip top shape?
I work with the SAF here in Australia. Yeah you guys sometimes have faults with equipment, but no-where near as often and as bad as the ADF.Originally posted by Rockhound:wat makes u think that our weapons are in tip top shape?

I must say that a lot of the blame can be attributed on the operators and the chaps at OMer level. It is frustrating for us depots to always have to witness the lack of care that the units have for their equipment.Originally posted by Shotgun:In any case... Stuff that we send overseas for exercise are usually some of the better conditioned ones. Ones that *usually* don't have a track record of problems. Heads will roll if major equipment malfunctions during an o'seas exercise where the top brass are watching.
I recall some of our best equipment were rolled out for Ops Flying Eagle. In some cases, our only serviceable ones.
In any case, kudos to the Australian Army Engineers who took part in the firefight. I don't see the guys from my engineers unit carry that much firepower and possessing as much infantry-knowledge.
I know what you mean. Its a headache for us to file the MRs as well. I'd follow some of the exercise troops out once in a while, and I see the way they abuse my equipment, "breaks my heart."Originally posted by LazerLordz:I must say that a lot of the blame can be attributed on the operators and the chaps at OMer level. Time and time again.
OFE was a whirlwind for us too..
