oh... i read from a forum ... apparently some turks believe that their PANTERA (a.k.a. FH-2000) can hit up to 70km... dont know how... maybe something related to the modular charge system??
anyway... 12 PANTERA has been provided to the pakistan armed forces... according to some turk and pak forumner... most believe that its for trial with possible future orders.
although non of them realise that PANTERA is actually a copy of singapore FH-2000.... but i keep quiet.
credit should go to gary though.. who help us realise that PANTERA is actually FH-2000. -

In fact , majority of the so called Turkish arms are actually licensed production, for example Firtina SPH was Korean K9, but the gun design is from STK.
The ACV-300 and it's variant was American AIFV(upgraded M113) etc.
Few years back in fact, Turkish govt was questioning their own arms industry why after years of development, they still heavily rely on licensed production rather than producing their own indigenous design. -

FH-2000 mostly stated as 18, but wiki said it is 54.
As for why FH-88 is only 52 instead of 54, it is quite puzzling.But there is also a rumour abt 4~5 of them were given to TNI.
M71S was still operated by NS unit a few years back , now I think there are now in storage, to be operated by MR units during an emergency.
Anyway the actual number will not be known to public as there is no official report, therefore all are guesstimate.
But my guess is,if one Div has 2 Bn of 155mm howitzers, that mean 4 Div will have a total of 144 minmum, then there is another armoured Bde or div, perhaps 1~2 Bn, let's say 1 Bn, so total of 162 pieces.
Some in storage (M71S and perhaps some FH-88 as well as newer howitzer are replacing them ) will be supporting PDF.
So in total depending how many MR units we could raise during an emergency, I believe a total of 200 operated by various kind(NSF, NS, MR) of units is not very far-fetched.
Afterall, we do have many howitzer, the problem is on the manning part. -

For Singapore, the numbers u see are the operational- equipment. Stuff they use for training and exercises. War-time equipment are stored and no one really knows how many there are unless they are directly involved with their Ops Storage.

Not exactly MLRS type. From what I see, MLRS is used to strike at stationary land targets like bases, etc. The current system is used to hit moving targets. Can call it armour-busters. Ability to track multiple armour or other vehicles and strike with deadly precision from very far. Needs 'eyes' out in the battlefield to track targets, not GPS. Seen them in action overseas before, very impressive and deadly indeed.

U.S. eyes $330 million artillery sale to Singapore
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Defense Department said on Wednesday it was tentatively planning to sell Singapore advanced Lockheed Martin Corp artillery rocket systems that could cost as much as $330 million.
Singapore has asked to buy 18 M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System launchers complete with nine medium tactical vehicle 5-ton trucks, communications sets and 32 XM31 Unitary High Explosive GMLRS rockets, the Pentagon told Congress.
The system, known as HIMARS, is designed to defeat artillery, air defenses, trucks, light armour and personnel carriers.
It would give Singapore a highly effective military capability critical to deterrence and national defense, the Pentagon's Defense Security and Cooperation Agency said. It said the total value could be $330 million if all options were exercised.
HIMARS supplements traditional canon artillery by delivering high-volume firepower in a short time against time-sensitive targets, the notice to Congress said.
"The proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a friendly country that has been, and continues to be, an important force for economic progress in Southeast Asia," the notice said.
On Aug. 24, the agency told Congress that Singapore was also seeking up to 84 precision-guided bombs for its F-15 fighter jet fleet as part of a military package valued at up to $200 million.
The notice of a potential sale is required by U.S. law. It does not mean a sale has been concluded. Congress retains the power to block a sale but rarely does so -
