Wow, I forgot about the FH-70.Originally posted by gary1910:Only the towed version with APU, 28 of them, plus another 12 FH-70, total 40 155mm howitzers.
And the max effective range of G5 is abt 50km with the special Denel's VLAP projectiles.

Well, at least the Israelis get a fair bit of funding every year, although most of it is used to buy American war materiel.Originally posted by chino65:Yes, you're correct there. The US begged Israel to sit tight and accept the SCUD strikes so they (US) can continue to whack Iraq without the rest of the Arab world launching Jihad.
And that's why they rushed the Patriots and claimed the high success rate.
And the Israeli just kept quiet until afterwards and now they are saying the Patriots ain't worth shxt.
Sigh... the price of friendship.
Wait, that brochure is for the 45 Cal version. I recall there's a 52 cal version. Am I correct?Originally posted by gary1910:Only the towed version with APU, 28 of them, plus another 12 FH-70, total 40 155mm howitzers.

It is officially reported from their own govt agency , so some Turks do know.Originally posted by tripwire:oh... i read from a forum ... apparently some turks believe that their PANTERA (a.k.a. FH-2000) can hit up to 70km... dont know how... maybe something related to the modular charge system??
anyway... 12 PANTERA has been provided to the pakistan armed forces... according to some turk and pak forumner... most believe that its for trial with possible future orders.
although non of them realise that PANTERA is actually a copy of singapore FH-2000.... but i keep quiet.
credit should go to gary though.. who help us realise that PANTERA is actually FH-2000.
Offficially nothing, you know SAF.Originally posted by chino65:Wow, I forgot about the FH-70.
What's the published figure of our 155? Counting the SPH etc... Do you know?
Yes, read the brochure till the end.Originally posted by Fingolfin_Noldor:Wait, that brochure is for the 45 Cal version. I recall there's a 52 cal version. Am I correct?
Sorry, you've already said too much.. -.-Originally posted by dark_riverter:SAF artillery already has 'guided systems' in the arsenal. Still classified so I won't say much.
Not exactly MLRS type. From what I see, MLRS is used to strike at stationary land targets like bases, etc. The current system is used to hit moving targets. Can call it armour-busters. Ability to track multiple armour or other vehicles and strike with deadly precision from very far. Needs 'eyes' out in the battlefield to track targets, not GPS. Seen them in action overseas before, very impressive and deadly indeed.
Anyway take it I'm just talking for fun. Guys in the know, don't leak more. Thanks.

ai ya ...if MY is buying land base missile from Russia and it is out of reach from SAF Artlilary range. Do u think mindef is going to sit around n do nothing. Look at the defence posture changes who is talking to whom and what is available...make a few anticipating exchange....after all that is what education thought us to "Think".Originally posted by LazerLordz:You don't have to.
My personal motto is to take what we have in public domain, and think two steps further.
Certain things, we just have to wait for them to release publicly lor.
