the commander optic were on the left near the machine gun..the dazzler were on the left (big square thingy)
it suppose to shatter the enemy optic.....and burnt the enemy gunner or commander eyes...which is why i raised this geneva thing. -
Come to think of it, new PRC MBTs are getting better in quality such as using innovative technology. Their looks are better now too.

Yes, I did read somewhere that these laser guns on PLA tanks are for blinding - not merely dazzling - enemy pilots, especially attack choppers.
The PRC SWAT teams also have a handheld laser rifle for, I guess, similar purpose of blinding the target. But so far, haven't heard of its use. -

Well, that device is for ZTZ99 MBTÂ’s optical counter-measurement purpose. It only responds to hostile laser ranger finder but not the naked eyes of enemy. guess the way to take it out is to concentrate fire on the optical system and disable it before lasing it for missiles.

But if you're in a tank targeted by a chopper, and you have ths laser thing handy - would you do the humane thing and NOT use it?
You and your crew being BBQ in your tank isn't very humane either. -
YoI think one of the most successful tank is the German King Tiger. It an old WWII Tank; but man, it's impressive.

That's the reason why these days, the gunner shouldnt rely on markone eyeball optics liaoz.
All the aiming will be done on a LCD screen with the sights already filtered for anti-glare.
By the way, if the Laser can aim at the gunner sights, you can be sure the gun is already aimmed at your tank! -

My god, dont laugh at a tank when it's purpose is to ambush and or attack.
Lousy armour = Well you need things quite a bit larger than the old LAW to penetrate + lousy armour info from what source?
Lousy Gun = the shorter the distance, the greater the accuracy , the greater the penetration and firepower regardless of Gun/Ammo. What does your gun range accuracy data say about the Pt-91?
Super Slow to fire = in comparison to what? The issue of autoloader vs 4 th man crew loader is still indetermined frankly. Reliability vs fatigue and injury.
Super slow to turn turret = if you are facing the right direction in the right place, aiming adjustments only require a few mil. Also, if any tanks electric traverse fails, you will manual traverse then every tank also slow to turn turret.
Laughing Stock = I will laugh at you when you stand in front of it and watch as it runs over you. Then i will feel sorry(maybe).

Look here. If they send that PT-91 in your direction and it's not friendly, you better be hiding. Even if you are in a L2, the round hitting your tank (even if it doesnt penetrate(IF it doesnt penetrate especially from close range)) the impact of the round on the tank will probably knock you senseless, leave you vomitting and your ears bleeding. In that time it's slow reload will chamber in another round and finish you off.
Btw, 125mm ammo can easily go through our IFVs and SM1. L2 is uncertain and NOT UNlikely in making penetration.
No one is going to send a lone tank to face the enemy. If you see one tank, you can expect at least a pair of them. If there's platoon of tanks, you can expect a company of armoured vehicles. Do you know how much firepower a company of armoured vehicles has?
Give respect to an MBT then maybe it will miss your presence. -
