EoTech sight for weapons, good or sucky??

From what I heard, Eotech is effective up to 300 metres, doesn't reveals location of user to enemies as the holographic images does not emit light and is only visible to the user, waterproof and pretty darn accurate.
What's your opinion? -
great design! I mounted Eotech 552 on 3 of my weapons including my SIG-556, Piston M4 and a regular M4. they are very quick in aquisition... and you have a large plane like a head up display so ! it is much faster in my opinion over the AImpoint which I have it on my MP5. aslo it has no parallex error .. The down side of the Eotech is the battery life! ... and no bullet compensation! however these issues is address on the new Eotech 553 and 557.
for long range engagement! I usually dim the dot down and we could do 400 meter shot with ease on the M4 or the SIG!

wow... thats a lot of weapons you have there...
many claim that the aiming is still pretty accurate even after the glass is penetrated or cracked... is that true?
does the glass reflect light too? -
yes, when you dim the dot down , you can do very precise shot at long distance. But bvecause it is not magnified! I still feel it is good up to 400 yards unless your target is big and bright. Howver, EOtech now sell a add on 3x and 4x magnifier that mounts in the back and that gives you a good manification like a scope.
I have use it on my freind's 3x mag on the eotech 552.. works great ..
When you get glare and sunnlight... the eotech works great! no issue on that! infact it worked out better than iron sights! maybe becasue of the inherit design of the EOtech that it is a holographic projetion !so! it takes out the glare and parallex prbem! adding to a wide plane, you can really have very fast aquisition

not like SG cant produce their own holosights...
maybe this is a political ass kissing so that the US would sell SG more parts for the armed forces?

Too bad, it's already on SAR-21, on the Picatinny-rail version as a part of the 3G Infantry thingy. Saw it on NS40.
BTW david, you OWN those weap? What gives? I want also... Firearm laws CAN soooooooooooo good....... Did anyone saw the compM2 on the MP5's the STARs carried?
