Will SAF provided body armors in times of war?

I don't know if SAF do provide body armors for peacekeeping troops or is it issued by UN? If so what body armors does SAF provide?

I believe they gave the troops that went to E. Timor body armour.

Yes there will be BA.
How heavy? it's been discussed before about 7kgs of kevlar plate type armour.
Weak points?
Neck(will die)
Side of torso( Most likely will die)
Face (will die)
Limbs (wont die unless hit artery and it pulls back into body then will die)
Balls (Technically wont die but i think you would rather die)
What can it stop? AR fired AP 7.62mm frontal/back.
If kenna hit pain or not? Very very pain.
Why buy "cheap" armour? Cause must equip > 100K fighting men + currently low threat of conflict.
Will elite units get better quality armour? Yes. -
Modern milspec BA with protective inserts can easily stop AK 7.62mm rounds, given normal level 3 protection can stop NATO 7.62mm, which is quite a bit more powerful.
It is no secret, and if you upgrade the level of protection you can even stop AP rounds, but of course as always... weight.
The thing about BA is that while it cannot cover your whole body, it can drastically cut the losses your forces take in combat. Wearing BA can reduce the injuries and deaths taken from hostile small arms fire by up to 70 percent, because in combat 70 percent of wounds are taken to the torso areas which are covered by BA. But of course your mileage might vary depending on the design of your vest, how much it covers and stuff.
So if you wear BA, your odds increase by roughly 70 percent... though you must factor in that BA makes you move slower, but I doubt that affects us that much unless the armour is really a ton...
But if you want nearly full body coverage:
The Trojan suit, an 18kg near-full body suit that is rated to protect you from rifle-threat small arms fire, IED explosions (not too powerful), and other nasty stuff. Weak points are probably the seams in the suit at the joints, fingers and neck. -

In terms of fighting men, yes we still outnumber them for now.
However in a war of attrition the MAF will find it easier to replenish its losses in personnel then the SAF, assuming it passes out the draft and gets its replacements via conscription.
So in a short war the SAF has a distinct advantage in both numbers and technology, but in a war of attrition the advantage will eventually shift over to the MAF, who (assuming they play a Soviet WW2-style draft game) will be able to bring more and more people into the fight.
