First of all, Chinamen is a derogative racial slur.
Now for a bit of history.
Before WW2 or Jap invasion of Manchuria/China, Chinese Nationalist officers were trained by German and Japanese militaries.
Yes, Japanese!!
Mostly, it was just the officers attending academies in Japan or Germany. I don't think either of them sent advisors to train the Nationalist soldiers directly.
Armament and equipment were mostly German or European. The helmet is still wore by some motorcyclists today, although some are mini replicas - damn funny!!!
The rifle is a Made-in-China Mauser - the original long version and not the WW2 KAR98 carbine. The LMG is the Czech ZB something - the grandfather of the Bren.
Chinese artillery were mostly German Krupp howitzers.
Only when WW2 started then US start training and equiping Chinese Nationalist armed forces, mainly because of the Allies interest in containing the largest portion of Jap troop strength in China and also to stop them succeeding in Burma and attacking India.
So he Chinese troops of WW2 had a mad range of weapons and equipment. At the beginning they had German helmets and rifles.
Then later on they started making US Thompson SMGs, had US jeeps etc -

Chinese soldiers.
The chinese army was trained by the German government from before ww1 till somewhere after ww1 and before ww2. They had similiar gear. -

These are Nationalist Chinese troops trained by German advisers and equipped with German arms. In fact, Chiang Kai-Shek's best troops throughout the Nationalist era were German-trained, and he wasted them by putting them in static formations surrounding communist positions, instead of pitting them against the Japanese when they invaded. German advisors were instrumental in instructing the Nationalists to pen the Communists into areas where they could be surrounded by fortified lines and slowly annihilated.
The German link was only terminated when WWII began and Germany and Japan signed the Axis pact. -

To add on, I personally believed the Nationalist Troops, based on the dreams of senior KMT leaders in the late 1920s/30s, hopefully could be based (or trained?) along the lines of the Wehrmacht. But of course, the Nationalist troops then were no Wehrmacht!
As Calvin2224 said, only 'best' (how 'best' is subjective) Nationalist troops were equiped and dressed like the Wehrmacht. But sadly, such well-dress and 'well-equipped' troops are basically just ShowCase Troops.
In fact, one of Chiang Kai Shiek's son (think is Chiang Wei Kuo, I may be wrong on the name) was educated/trained in Germany's military academy and there's a pic of him in the Wehrmacht uniform. -
If i am not wrong, Chiang Kai Shek receive his military training in Japan. The founding father of ROC, Dr Sun Yat Sen himself stayed in Japan for many years.

CKS was trained in Russia rather than Germany. CKS had his most elite unit equipped with all german stuff but that was all before the Blitzkreig startegy developed for the German military. THe German directly sent miliary advisors to China to train them but friendly and later military pact with Japan severed all China and Germany military cooperation in the late 30s too.
CKS lost all his elite unit of German equipped troops in Battle of Shanghai in 1937 but inflicted serious loss on Jap troops that resulted the Jap troops taking revenge by cinducting the rape of Nanking. -
The Wehrmacht had units composed of different nationalities as well. These Asiatic types might have come from Central Asian defectors from the Soviet Army. The Soviet Army had units from what is now Kazakhstan, Siberia... which are chiefly Asians. As for the Indians, there might be a unit of Indians who joined the side of the Germans in order to resist British colonialism, much in the same way as the Indian National Army of Chandra Bose. -
