The RSAF's NDP rehearsals starting to pick up.
This formation followed about 20 seconds behind a trio of F16s in formation as well. Trailing these 5 was a lone F16. The CH-47 will be carrying the flag this year escorted by 3 AH-64s. Seen them off in the distance and they haven't come close or passed overhead like they did last year. Maybe in the next few days they'll want to do that.
Meanwhile, just a single pic of the 5 in formation.
EDIT: Fine CH-47. I haven't been so attentive to the numberings lately. I think there's something wrong with imageshack. Alot of pictures are just not able to access. My apologies. -

Why not just ask 100 airmen fly kites at the bay. SHould be beautiful as well leh. -

Anyway last month on a particular Sat, from where I stayed, apparently the State Flag-assigned Choppers (1 x Chinook escorted by 2 Apaches with a S Puma behind) were practising the new flight route and was going through the same route for a good 2-4 times by this heavy tasked team!
And guessed what? The route took them along the whole length of ChinaTown, guess you will get a very clear view of them (come rehearsal & actual NDP Day) if standing at Chinatown! I had used my phone to video the whole flypast, but deleted as the choppers were small when I replayed the video. -
got to avoid the tall buildings in the area.

Past NDP flypass formation over Padang/N-Stadium were used to be from east to westernly direction. Now it seems this year practice runs are generally from south~westernly direction over Marina Bay. -
I believed you are referring to the Flag-bearing flypast? If yes, that is correct of your observation. Therefore from the Padang/N-Stadium viewpoint, this would mean the direction of this group is, as you said, from 'east to westernly direction' (to put in this perspective, the Flag team would fly roughly along the length of the Benjamin Sheares bridge). However if you apply this direction to this year's Parade location (where the parade location is situated roughly in parallel to the Bridge), this would mean the Flag team would be flying straight towards the VIP Podium! and the view (of the Flag) could only be viwed in its full glory only when this team is about 90 degrees to the left of the podium and the VIPS & spectators MUST turn their heads to their left to see this!
Therefore, the Flag-team this year would be from the North-Southern direction (along the waterfront of the Esplanade). -

Seems like on the rehearsals, initially there are only a pair of Apaches escorting the Flag-bearing Chinook but apparently the this pair is increased by another pair making a total of 4 Apaches doing the escorts. -
cant really see the divers jump cos that part of view is blocked
however, the past few days have been real exciting....juz yesterday, we hv a pair of apaches w/o longbow flying juz short of tung centre....seems they hover for a while and go round in circles and it caught the attention of all including the passerbys who cant help but look up at them..........
unfortunately, only those working at one fullerton will hv a better and full view...
