So what if he wants to fight for right-wing politicians?Originally posted by Hellraiza:Informed decision? Goodness. Who's battles will he be fighting for?
your friend would earn a hella lot more dough if he was working for a private organisation though. Then again, "A warrior without a flag is like a man without honour."Originally posted by LazerLordz:So what if he wants to fight for right-wing politicians?
I'm sorry, you are speaking from personal experience? Which army were you from?Originally posted by YaoRockets:Foreign legions are for suckers, private mercs are the way to go.
you can join any of many private security contractors in Iraq if you really want to see action. Plus they pay tons better than any regular army, and you don't have to deal with many legal restrictions.
the downside if you might die, for real! chances are you will sh*t your pants once you get there. LOL
Thank you Lazerlordz.Essentially,I would like to serve Israel.I'm a Catholic, and that does play some small factor in the process, but overall I would like to improve combat qualifications as well as serve the Jewish state.Originally posted by LazerLordz:And who are you to question them as well? And pulling security in Fallujah does not make you a murderer.
Murder is premediated killing for it's own sake, or for the sake of pleasure. Pulling security or fighting for certain ideals is far more different. Please get that distinction clear.
There are ex-Singaporeans serving in the US Army Reserve because they feel that they have to give back their new nation what it has given them. The notion of service to a state or ideals is something not every layman in Singapore can understand.
Some people have their own calling in life. Let's respect that even if you cannot agree.
To clear things up,I have always maintained that I am Chinese and Indian.I have been maintaining so for the last few years. If you want to confirm it,go ask Gedanken, who I have met in real life.Originally posted by Short Ninja:[quote]Originally posted by moca:

I think Saudakar is more like a Sikh name.I would suggest he try SAF first and see if he is the soldiering type.
True. The FFL offers citizenship and a new identity(care to confirm?). It is not compulsory though, however, most can't say no to becoming a full citizen of the European Union with its benefits etc.Originally posted by calvin2224:Well if the man wants to do it as a job, let him be. Just be forewarned that you will probably be unable to remain Singaporean. Back then in my French class there was this chap who aspired to join the French Foreign Legion and told all of us so. Joining the Foreign Legion meant that he could be French at the end of the terms, and I have not heard of him since.
Yes, Commonwealth citizens may serve in the British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Marines.Originally posted by Arapahoe:I believe you can joint the british military, they are looking for Asian. And you get actual combat action. For some reason, I also think that transition would be easier if you have gone thru SAF.

Is there any source or person from which I can find out more?Preferably a person.Well,I wouldn't mind servnig for Queen and country.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Yes, Commonwealth citizens may serve in the British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Marines.
"Although Commonwealth citizens are entitled, on nationality eligibility grounds, to serve in the UK Armed Forces, the Services do not actively market armed forces careers in Commonwealth countries. Selection and recruitment team visits to Commonwealth countries are limited to those locations where numbers of expected applicants justify the effort and where an invitation to conduct visits has been received from the respective Government. Nevertheless, the Services do process applications from Commonwealth citizens who have travelled to the UK at their own volition for such a purpose."Originally posted by Sardaukar:Is there any source or person from which I can find out more?Preferably a person.Well,I wouldn't mind servnig for Queen and country.
I would like to know too. Heard of one or two of our boys serving in the US Army Reserve too, after having migrated over.Originally posted by Arapahoe:i wonder what level of vocation they are serving as?
