Pulling out the grenade pin using your teeth?

For those of you wondering what happens when a bullet (projectile) is shot into a body of water, take a look at the video and pictures in this thread (fifth post down).

I once met a Thai journalist who wore a AK-47 bullet around his neck. It was allegedly dug out of his leg - as confirmed by his other journo friends. And the bullet was undeformed, un-fragmented etc.

remember watching a movie when some heros blew up trees with just a detcord around it. we tried this in pulau senang, trees are much tougher.

For the grenades SAF uses, the pin needs to be twisted and pulled, and even then its pretty tight. I reckon you could use your teeth, if you had a jaw like a pit bull and teeth made of steel. If not, I think you're better off using your hands. It took me a good ten seconds of wringing, twisting and grunting to get the pin off the first time I threw a SAF grenade. Then again, I am quite skinny, so it could have been a case of muscle (or lack of).
As for the deformation of a bullet hitting a target (or body), I suppose a projectile might just avoid deformation provided that most of the energy has been dissipated, but there is just enough for it to embed itself in the target. So, I suppose a possible scenario which may apply is if the target is hit just outside of the effective range of the bullet, where the projectile is almost out of steam, and doesn't have the speed/energy to smash itself into the target. Having said that, I leave you to figure out the the odds of finding someone who has gotten a non-deformed projectile dug out of them.

Edit: Btw, we are talking about assault rifle rounds (e.g. 5.56), right? I think somebody told me pistol rounds may not react the same way or something... -
hollywood all bull one la the show ultraviolet wher the hero rode a bike trained soldier wif miniguns shoot cant even hit if im not wrong soldiers who are trained as gunners are taught how to hit moving targets. about machine guns... the villians shoot cannot hit then hero shoot even enemy 10000km away oso die

Also, his friends were there to confirm his story - these men are in the late 40's, not teenagers telling tall tales. It was at my friend's wedding and she married an American journo who worked for decades in Thailand. These are his Thai buddies.
WHile it may be sound unbelievable to a Singaporean who grew up in nice clean HDB estate about being shot by AK, we are talking about Thailand, and these people work the war zones.
The only bs you can suspect is that maybe the bullet he wore wasn't the one from his leg.
ANother person I knew whom was shot was this crazy Filipino American. He himself owned several revolvers and he was shot during a gambling dispute by a 9mm pistol-wielding guy - another Filipino. He had no chance to return fire and was hit 3 times at pointblank range. Not only did he survive, he was fit as a fiddle - still hard drinking and hard living. He was hit in the neck and 2 in the torso. All miraculously missing organs.
Yet, there are people who die from just one gunshot wound. -

The grenade pin can be pulled out by a strong set of teeth, if u use ur hands to TWIST the pin first.... But since ur'e already using ur hands...
The bullets don't disintegrate on entry. They fragmentate. A single 5.56 spinning and supersonic speeds will fragment into a few smaller parts causing more tissue damage. This is perhaps due to the bullet material, being unable to handle the stress of a rapid change in medium density at high velocity??? Thus fragmentation??
For the AK round to remain intact and undeformed, it means the bullet was already slowed by whatever reason before entering. And being a slightly larger bullet, perhaps its material is able to tolerate the change in medium density? -

More or less, within 100 meters for your average 5.56mm ball round, the energy of the round exceeds the mechnical strength of the bullet within human flesh, hence it will fragment violently and cause a far nastier wound then it's caliber would suggest. This effect drops out with range and eventually the round behaves like your classic bullet.
The AK 7.62mm will not fragment or deform in flesh unless it hits something solid like bone, after penetrating to a sufficent depth it will start to yaw coming to rest eventually base first, and it is during the yawing where it causing a much larger wound track.
BTW, the NATO 7.62mm will behave like the 5.56mm in fragmenting if you drive it fast enough using non-standard powder loads. You certainly don't want to be hit by that! -
Has anyone ever thrown the "reusable" blank grenade? Used it for FIBUA.
Basically a metallic grey iron ball the size and weight of a real SFG-87 - probably heavier. It has all the working parts just like a real grenade except the body is a solid iron ball with large holes where you can actually see the detonator.
Same drill, safety clip, safety pin, toss into room and after the few seconds, the detanator goes BANG!!!! Louder than thunderflash.
Then instructor goes in and pick up all the "expended" grenade and the lever. You return the safety pin. Instructor unscrews the working mechanism from the body, puts in a new detanator, fits everything back together including the safety pin, and it can be used again. -
I forgot to mention that the shot victim wore the bullet within a small glass or plastic container together with his Siam Buddha amulet and he wasn't too keen about showing it off. Probably blessed by the monks and sacred etc.
The silliest thing I ever read in ST was something that happened in Cambodia involving a Singaporean religious freak. This happened not long after the fighting had stopped.
This Singaporean got very into all these Buddha and amulet magick scene and he possessed what he believed was an amulet that made him invincible to bullets. He was such a believer he challenged his friend to shoot him. I can't remember if his friend was also Singaporean but long story short, amulet man died of a gunshot wound.
WTF he was doing in Cambodia and why he knew people with firearms and was able to persuade them to open fire was never explained. -

he probably survived because the HP didnt open up and go through the body and without hiting any major organ or arteries and bones.
first generation 9mm silvertip bullet usually have these stoping problems. That guy probably possesed the 'imported' surplus round from foreign nation.
Newer 9mm have a different circumference of the cavity and also the composition of the copper sheathing of the lead have been changed. -
