Pulling out the grenade pin using your teeth?

We always see this action in Hollywood movies..but my instructors in SAF told me it's bull...what gives?

If I remember rightly, the pin needs to be twisted right?
Maybe the heroes in those movies have 'teeth-friendly' grenades. Recommended by your friendly local dentist. -

Actually I think it maybe possible. You know that type of stick grenades used by German during WW1 and WW2, machiam like the PRC type 77-I grenade. They work by pulling out a cord from the base of stick to ignite the fuse. So i presume if u bite strong and pull hard, it may work.

but I've picked up a 7.62 jacketed bullet that is totally undeformed at pasir laba before .... I think it's one of the lapua sniper rounds .... -
supersonic bullet will disintergrate when penetration fluid mass such as body or water (thats why its safer to jump under water when being shot at) un deformed bullet can be found if the bullet enter sand or soft soil.

I once met a Thai journalist who wore a AK-47 bullet around his neck. It was allegedly dug out of his leg - as confirmed by his other journo friends. And the bullet was undeformed, un-fragmented etc.

Regarding pulling out the grenade pin with teeth...
In Vietnam, GI used to hook their greandes on their SBO ala Hollywood. This means they hook the handle onto the D rings of the SBO near the chest.
Reports started coming in of grenades going off cos the safety pin ring-pull caught onto vegetation and got pulled off, causing the grenade to explode.
That's why they came up with grenade pouches where you are supposed to put the grenade in, and close the restraining strap. We had this on our old US style SBO. 2 grenade pouches at the side of each mag pouch.
So, if US-made grenades of that era can have their safety pin ring-pull yanked off by vegetation, it may not be impossible to pull them off with your teeth.
Anyway, just an assumption on my part.
In SAF, we use STK-made grenades and not US ones, so we can't use SAF grenades to judge all other grenades. SFG-87 or something...
Ours also has a safety clip as a double safety. And yes, the pin is damn bloody hard to pull out.
And throwing a grenade is an experience money cannot buy. An experience mixed with fear and excitement.
While waiting for your turn in the training shed with walls, you can hear the loud crump of other people's grenades going off and the ground shaking slightly. Pebbles would occassionally rain down on the zinc roof!
The actual throwing of the grenade was a bit of an anti-climax as you are concentrating so hard not to drop the bloody thing you barely notice anything else. -

.50 caliber sniper rifle, the entire bullet fragmented into almost a hundred pieces... You're pretty safe about 2-3 feet underwater...

i am always wondering what came flying out from their MG when they r firing -
The movies also show the hero heating the knife up,he would then bite on a piece of cloth to tahan the pain while using the heated knife to dig out the round
